October 2011 — "It was my son's birthday and we gave him the option of where to go for dinner. To our surprise he chose Edo Japan. We headed towards Westhills shopping centre where the restaurant was located. As we arrived, they had a fairly large menu consisting of various forms of suykiyaki beef, chicken and pork. Noodles, spring rolls, sushi and sushimi were also part of the selections. They had kids meals available which all three of my kids settled on. They decided on the teriyaki chicken, while I decided to order some a dynamite roll along with a side of teriyaki beef. The food arrived promptly and was freshly made. The sushi I had was not the greatest, however, the teriyaki beef was quite tasty. The kids really enjoyed eating at this restaurant. This satisifaction alone would have me coming back. We've found another kid friendly establishment where we can get consensus from all three children along with a decent meal and all at a decent price. Not a place to go if you are looking specifically for sushi, but a good place for a quick sukiyaki type of meal."

September 2011 — "Edo Japan Family Restaurant has long been a staple in many Calgary malls and strip malls. It offers up a clean and fast experience if you are in the mood for sushi or other Japanese styled cuisine. There are many choices of sushi to pick from and if raw fish is not your thing then there is also an assortment of teriyaki and rice choices. Newer offering also include teriyaki flavoured shrimp as well as the basic beef or chicken choices. There are locations in each quadrant of the city and the two of which I frequent the most are the Crowfoot and downtown locations. The prices can be a little steep for something that is considered to be fast food and served on a tray. A entree with a sides and a drink can easily run over $10. For my money I prefer the fresher sushi at a restaurant although Edo is good for the occasional teriyaki dish."
