August 2011 — "We wanted to eat pho but Pho Xuan, across the street was closed so we came to eat at Pebble Street since it is generally open pretty late. We were quickly seated and noticed that this other party that drove to Pho Xuan and was too late too, came here as well which was a funny coincidence. The menu had an assortment of food: noodle dishes, rice dishes, soup based dishes, appetizers of dumplings to fried fish cakes. We ordered the Portuguese baked chicken on rice and Won Ton Soup. Our server was very polite and helpful as one our friends wasn't too sure what they wanted to order, the server provided suggestions and even asked what type of noodles they wanted which resulted in a customized dish. The Won Ton Soup was enormous! There was so much soup, a small portion of egg noodles and four won tons. It was delicious and very hearty, and the won ton were huge and filled with loads of pork and shrimp. Our Portuguese chicken then arrived and was the sauce was bubbling. The baked chicken was delicious as I remembered even though I don't normally order this dish at Pebble street. The sauce had a tint of coconut which I didn't mind and the sauce was dripping over the baked rice which had corn and peas and such. The sauce was this creamy, cheesy, and sweet flavour which I really enjoyed. Although this dish is a bit on the greasy side from the cheese and the sauce and fried chicken bits on top, I thoroughly enjoyed it. We were going to save our leftovers but ended up eating all of it!"

April 2010 — "Since I was close by, I decided to stop by at Pebble street and grab something quick to eat. In general, I think Chinese food is pretty cheap and full of flavour, but also a little more added MSG. I mean, the beef flank and ho fan (thick rice noodles) dish was really good, but I couldn't help going for more and more and more water. And that was only from one bowl! I don't know if I can say that I would stay away but maybe I would attempt to tell the waiters to hold the MSG. The bowl was so nicely laid out, with some veggies, the flank and the noodles, as well as some mixture of greens - green onions cilantro and some fried garlic. Such a yummy combination. It definitely hit the spot for me. Not the best in service, but not too bad during their off time - when ever that is at least. It's quick and cheap, so worth the trip. "

January 2010 — "My boyfriend and I eat here frequently after shopping at T&T Supermarket for groceries. Its located right inside Pacific Mall in North East Calgary right beside the Canadian Tire and the Marlborough C-train station, so its really easy to get to. This place serves Hong Kong style dishes which for me usually means something on rice baked with cheese. I ordered ham and chicken on rice baked with the cheese. I don’t know if it’s just me but the dishes seem to be getting smaller and prices seem to be going up. Maybe I’m hungrier but I didn’t use to be able to finish the entire dish by myself. They are very fast at getting you seated with drinks but the actually delivery of food takes longer than hoped for. It’s very convenient when you’re in that area though so I’m sure we’ll be back again. They also serve fresh chinese BBQ items during the morning to lunch time period, and is known to be pretty tasty"

October 2009 — "Pebble street is another branch of the company that owns Calgary Court in China Town. It's nice to be able to go to a good chinese food place outside of China Town so you don't have to pay for parking. Because they're attached to Forbidden City, the bigger restaurant with the same owner, you can order stuff from either side. So usually when we go on the weekends, we'd have some Hong Kong cafe style food which pebble street serves along with some dim sum that Forbidden City would bring over. I don't know of any other place that would have this combination. I personally really like the BBQ meats like Duck and Pork there. If you've never tried chinese BBQ Duck and BBQ pork, you don't know what you're missing. There is a very big menu selection though of rice and noodles as well and the prices are very reasonable. Over all Pebble street is the best chinese restaurant we're been to in NE Calgary."

August 2009 — "I went to Pebble Street for lunch with two coworkers on a Friday. Since we only have 1hr for lunch and wanted something filling for cheap, this place was one of the top picks. We were seated right away when we got in. It took a while for the servers to come and get our order. We all wanted to order the bbq combo special (main reason why we went there) but they said they only offer that on weekends but obviously that wasn’t written on the menu. Anyway, I ordered the Hainan Chicken Rice, which came with a side of soup as well. The order came out super fast, which made up for all the wait time trying to get the servers attention. The service is generally pretty bad. It took forever for us to get a refill for our tea cups. The food presentation of my dish was surprisingly nice. It tasted pretty decent and the price was alright (10.50+tax). I would recommend this place for your hong kong café style food if you are in the area but don’t go out of your way for it."
