February 2008 — "My wife and I decided to dine at Los Mariachis because it is really close to Chinook Centre, where we were heading to a movie later in the evening.
Los Mariachis is located in a strip mall and has a very festive and bright Mexican decor. I've never been to Mexico, but my wife has several times and she really appreciated the ambiance.
We arrived around 730pm on a Saturday night and the restaurant wasn't packed, but it was definitely not empty. It's a pretty small place, with about 20 tables or less. They have a wide range of beverages, including imported Mexican beers, sangria and Mexican cocktails.
We chose to start with the appetizer that included guacamole, salsa and pickled jalepenos with tortilla chips. It was very tasty and the perfect prelude to our main course.
I chose to dine on the El Quatro - which included four different Mexican items, including an enchilada, a taco and other tasty items. My wife had El Trio, which had three items, including a stuffed chili relleno. The clincher was when a table of seven Spanish-speaking patrons sat down. If the food meets their expectations, then it must be good.
The service wasn't the best, but this was a very inviting, laid back restaurant and the food was a lot better than other Mexican restaurants we've tried throughout the city.
We will probably visit Los Mariachis again, my wife seemed to really enjoy herself and it must have been pretty authentic Mexican because it made her want us to go on vacation to Mexico!"

January 2008 — "Have been going to this restaurant over the past 6 months. First visit was impressive. The service was fantastic and they provided pre dinner snacks. Food & service were great. Subsequently, overall, things have deteriorated. We do like the food, so continued to go even though it was not great. This past visit will definitely be our last. The shrimp and mussels appetizer was terrible: The shrimp were overcooked and old while over half the mussels were inedible. When shown to the owner, he just laughed and said that's what happens with fresh mussels. Despite this, we were charged the full price on our bill. The main course was good, but once again came out on cold plates with the food just barely warm. Also, someone left the back door open for awhile causing a freezing cold breeze....very unpleasant. It's too bad. It's a cute little Mexican restaurant with a great menu and generally good food but we will be going to Juan's from now on."

November 2007 — "I have been going to this restaurant since it opened. I was disappointed when I noticed the new menu and didn't find the 'El Trio' on it. I ended up ordering the Flatas which I have never had and I really enjoyed. The new menu has a much broader selection.
The service is lacking at times and they used to serve tortillas and salsa before the main course. This was a further disappointment for me.
I will give them another chance however because I do enjoy the people, food, and atmosphere. I am sure they will work out the kink's soon.

October 2007 — "I really enjoyed the platter, which gave me a sampling of quite a few dishes. It came with mole, which I have never liked, but I found it to be the best mole I ever tasted. I even ate the leftovers! As far as atmosphere, it isn't tops, but the food makes up the difference. I would like to see free tortilla chips and salsa, like you would get before any meal in Mexico. The prices were very reasonable, and the service was better than I have received at most comparable latin food restaurants. "

April 2007 — "Im guessing Bob has never been to Mexico, because this restaurant screamed Mexico. Sure it may not have the nicest tables, or a whole lot of space, but it had a authentic mexican atmosphere and very very good mexican food. I highly recommend Los Mariachis over taco time any day of the week.

February 2007 — "This restaurant was a disappointment. Food quality comparable to Taco time at four times the price. The decor was lacking with a series of cheap cafe tables struck together. No free tortilla chips here while you wait for the main course, $7! There was a reason I could get in with no reservation at 7pm on Friday."
