February 2012 — "At the recommendation of my colleague's wife, we decided to have a nice dinner at Madison's Grill which is located at the base of the Union hotel in downtown Edmonton. We did make reservations as we did not know how busy it would be. When we arrived, I noted the "upper scale" feel to this dining establishment. We were seated in our reserved table with our drinks orders taken promptly. Again, at the recommendation of my colleague's wife, we each had the Lamb Shank. For starters, I decided on the Ceaser Salad which was recommended by the server. When our meals came out, they were piping hot and fresh. I have to say that this was one of the best ceaser salads I have ever had. Very fresh, tasty and full of life. After eating the salad, I then began to work on the lamb shank. This too was very good and tender. Most definitely excellent food, but quite pricey. The Lamb Shank was $36 and the Ceaser Salad was approx. $12. Although the food was excellent, I have had just as good lamb in other establishments and only paying a fraction of its costs. I recommend this place for those wanting a fancier restaurant to take someone special."
