September 2011 — "The Pines is the restaurant located at Pyramid Lake Resort, about 5 minutes from Jasper. Pyramid Lake is absolutely beautiful and when we visited the fall colors were breathtaking. From your table in the restaurant you have a wonderful view of the lake, trees and mountains. For $14.75 I had and omelette called The Pines Omelette. It consisted of three eggs, ham, cheese, red pepper, green onion, and swiss cheese. It came with shoestring potatoes and pieces of several kinds of melons. Coffee and orange juice also came with the meal. The omelette was very good, but the shoestring potatoes needed some help from the ketchup bottle. As you can see, though, it was a good deal. I would guess that the restaurants in Jasper on busy main street would have cost a lot more for the same amount of breakfast. Our server was good at her job and the bathroom was very clean. It is worth the short, scenic drive to have breakfast at Pyramid Lake. "

September 2011 — "The Pyramid Coast Hotel located on the outskirts of Jasper has an inviting little restaurant known as “the Pines”, which overlooks the absolutely beautiful Pyramid Lake. We chose a small table against the bank of windows so that we would have full view of the lake and the majestic fall colours. The Pines offers all meals, with a nice selection of interesting breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, as well as a la carte options. Having just finished a relaxing canoe ride before breakfast, we were ready to eat. I had 2 poached eggs with fruit and rye toast, a glass of orange juice and an Italian coffee for $14.25. Everything was done nicely and presented as a five fruit tower. A nice choice of jazz music accompanied our meal, and we never felt rushed by our server, even though we knew they were preparing the kitchens for the lunch menu. The restaurant appeared to be spotless, as were the washrooms, and the overall ambience was relaxing and fairly casual. The location of this restaurant makes it a worthwhile (and short!) jaunt from Jasper if you are looking for a beautiful place to spend a part of your day while eating. Definitely on my list of recommended places to eat! "

Located in the Coast Pyramid Lake Resort, this restaurant specializes in Rocky Mountain comfort food prepared from fresh regional ingredients. The menu focuses on Alberta game meats, poultry, beef and seafood that is part of the Ocean Wise sustainable seafood program. Open Monday to Sunday from 7am to 9pm.
