December 2010 — "I was in the mood for some Vietnamese food and decided to check out this close by restaurant, the Oriental Dallas Vietnamese in the Crowchild Square mini-mall. The menu had three full pages of options, but I decided to go for one of my favorite standbys, spicy beef pho. The soup took a good half hour from time of ordering until it arrived at our table. In this time I had time to take in the dated decor, dingy carpet, and flower borders. When the soup arrived it definitely looked appealing; the bowl was large and full of hot steaming soup. The flavor was good, not the best I’ve had, but still a solid ‘good’. The price of my large bowl of spicy beep pho was $10.50 which I thought was good value for money. If I am in the mood for soup again I might check out this place again."

"Spicy Seafood Soup"

December 2010 — "There’s a lot wrong with the Oriental Dallas Vietnamese Restaurant, but there is nothing wrong with their food. Located in the basement of a dilapidated strip mall, it’s an effort just to keep going down the dreary hall and stairs to enter the restaurant. What’s really lacking here is service and atmosphere. There was no greeting upon entering. After receiving our food we also were not asked how it was or if we needed anything else. And our table only had one place setting. Decor is lacking as the white walls are relatively bare except for some posters. But don’t despair, the food is good. I ordered #24a, the spicy seafood pho soup. It is served in a very large bowl filled with thin noodles, and big chunks of seafood including crab, shrimp, and scallops. The soup is pretty spicy so customers will probably need extra napkins. The dish is also served with limes and bean sprouts to add to the soup as required. My dish cost about $12 after tax, a decent deal."

September 2007 — "The vermicelli bowls at this restaurant is pretty tasty.
Love the 'pho' bowls o noodle soups, interesting how I saw another table ordered meat raw on the side, and then dip it in afterwards, to each his own.
Server on the Saturday when we visited was really friendly and efficient.
Only bad thing is this restaurant is on a lower level, we just recently discovered it."

August 2007 — "You can really eat here for two for under $15.00 with two large bowls of pho. My boyfriend and I usually drop by to have a couple of bowls of 'pho' and they're quick too. Sometimes I'll have their BBQ pork chop on rice - they give you two slices of pork chops. Servic is friendly and fast.

from multiple choices of pho to an excellent fresh made choice of spring rolls and salad rolls. for those who do not like those choices a great selection of fried, stir fried and noodle dishes are offered.
