June 2011 — "The Rose & Crown is located right in the heart of beautiful Canmore. It looks like the kind of place that should have great specials and delicious food to keep locals and visitors alike coming back. However, my experience there wasn't great and I probably wouldn't go again. I went to Canmore for a daytrip and had lunch at the Rose & Crown. The atmosphere was subdued and dark, and the dingy and poorly lit pub was certainly not reflective of the beautiful summer outside. There were no food or drink specials offered whatsoever, so we stuck to pints and appetizers. The artichoke dip was way too salty and tasted store bought. The potatoes skins were decent, but a bit overcooked and dry. The beer wasn't nearly cold enough and was a bit disappointing on such a hot day! Our server was very unenthusiastic and only added to our drab experience. I don't recommend this place to anyone visiting beautiful Canmore!"

August 2009 — "I went to the Rose & Crown after hiking in the mountains and two of us shared the potato skins and the spinach and artichoke dip. Both were fantastic and some of the best pub fare I've had. I love the dip and the accompanying pita wedges were the perfect amount. The dip was crusted over with oh so delicious cheese! The potato skins had very generous toppings which is a must for this! Also great!
The setting was nice being surrounded by the mountains. The atmosphere lively on the patio (sometimes annoyingly). Service was good as well.

May 2009 — "Great little place with a nice Irish Pub Atmosphere. Our waitress was quick and very friendly and our drinks arrived within 5 minutes of us arriving at the place.
Unfortunately, due to an issue in the kitchen, our food was delayed over an hour. While a irritation, they compensated us for our trouble with our meals free. The food was great there, with many interesting and tasty choices. I would recommend the Jalapeno Cheddar Baked Soup for an appetizer.
Great entertainment with many LCD TVs for sports, billiard tables, arcade games and darts.
Not a family place, as some rated R pictures in the washroom. Not complaining, but worth the warning. Would definitely return next trip to Canmore."

May 2007 — "I recently enjoyed some hot wings, poutine and a brew at the Rose & Crown in Canmore. Although the pub was busy, we received great service. The food was fresh and tasty."

June 2006 — "In the summer time after a day hike, there is no better place to relax and have a drinks and eats than on the patio of the Rose & Crown in Canmore. The patio offers vista views of the surrounding mountains and rivers as you sip on an ice-cold bevy. The service was great, the food was tasty and with the combination of atmosphere, the experience is truly memorable. I glanced around the patio instantly noticing the diversity of age groups and characters, no specific demographic seemed to dominate. The fare is Irish inspired traditional pub grub. After scanning the menu and trying to decide between fish and chips or Jalapeno cheese soup and spinach salad, the latter won. This tasty treat arrived at my table in a French onion style soup bowl topped with a puff of light pastry on warm spicy, cheesy goodness. So good in fact that I ordered one to go, although I don't recommend trying this, as the pastry just wasn't the same. The salad was fresh and plentiful. For those not so nice days, inside the Rose & Crown I found comfy dark wood booths, a pool table and dartboards."

The menu at Canmore's Rose and Crown features traditional English fare with a contemporary twist and aside from its popular beer-battered fish offers dishes such as buttermilk-coated calamari, rosemary lamb chops and of course, bangers and mash. The traditionally styled pub is a casual space complete with pool tables while the refined dining area is family friendly. The spacious patio overlooks Policeman's Creek. Open from 11am to 2pm.
