June 2009 — "As we walked into Rose Garden Thai Restaurant on Stephen Avenue Mall we were greeted by a nice gold statute of an elephant and authentic Thai decorations, my co-workers commented that it felt just like in Thailand. The décor was nice, warm and inviting. A group of us came here at noon for their lunch buffet and left satisfied. There are not too many items available, but what they did serve they excelled at. I have not tasted food like this since attending my friends Thai wedding last year where the food was home made. It was very good and included items like Pad Thai, Curry beef, chicken skewers, tom tom soup, spring rolls, vegetables, mango desserts and more. I had to make sure I tried everything but paid for it later when I left the restaurant much too full. The price was 14.95 per person and I thought it was quite reasonable for the quality of food that we received. For those who work downtown, this is a definite place to check out. Even if you don’t work downtown, it is well worth the trip."

June 2009 — "Rose Garden Thai Restaurant has a great location on Stephen Ave in downtown Calgary, however, if your not looking for it, its easy to miss! I recommend you look for it, because the food is absolutely worth it. My coworkers and I went for the lunch buffet. The cost is just under $15 per person. The décor is beautiful, and is what I can only imagine Thailand to look like! It almost feels like you are in a hut. At first glance at the food, I was a little disappointed. There were only about 10 hot food items! However, upon tasting the food my opinion was quickly changed. They offer rice, curry dishes, pad thai, spring roles, calamari and several other items. The food was clearly fresh, hot and authentic. And the best part of all is that unlike the traditional buffet restaurant, they give you huge plates to fill to your heart’s (or appetite’s) desire! "

"The Best Thai Buffet"

April 2009 — "When I think buffet, I usually expect a large assortment of mediocre, slightly greasy, luke warm food that's been sitting out for a lengthy amount of time, and possible even re-heated form the day before. Rose Garden Thai buffet, is definitely not what you would expect. The lunch buffet is $15 and small by normal standards. I was surprised to see a table of maybe 10 items in total, but my oversized plate quickly filled itself. The buffet offers plain and coconut rice, a delicious red curry, pad thai, a beef dish, a vegetable dish, spring rolls and calamari, a few salads and a soup. As well as an assortment of delectable deserts. While the spread was not vast by any means, it was constantly being re-filled with fresh items, and in my opinion this is the most authentic thai cuisine I have come across in quite sometime. Rose Garden Thai Buffet was a pleasant surprise and I can't wait to go back. Try it for lunch, you won't dissapointed."

December 2008 — "I first became aware of the Rose Garden because the New Kids on the Block ate there about 15 years ago. They apparently loved it. I have since gone a few times. In the past, I have enjoyed their special where three appetizers and an entree cost less than $20. I did not see this option the last time I went. Perhaps it is only offered in the summer, or not offered anymore. I also tried their buffet lunch. Unfortunately, I arrived just before the buffet ended, and the food wasn't at its best as it had been sitting there awhile. It definitely wasn't up to the standard of the evening meals I have had there. On my most recent visit, I ordered a red curry chicken dish and it did not disappoint. It was a shame, though, that the music being piped in was not Thai. That would have added to the experience. "

August 2008 — "This Thai buffet restaurant is the best I've had in the city. For a very reasonable price customers get unlimited access to a large buffet. There are always at least eight dishes at the buffet, including several vegetarian options. There is also a soup, several desserts, and fresh fruit. Their peanut sauce, always fresh and delicious, puts grocery-store brands to shame. Its a good idea to make a reservation, especially on weekdays around lunch time, as there are many corporate people looking for a great, quick lunch. Those in a rush need not worry, as its easy to dig right into the buffet when you arrive--no need to wait to order! After working downtown for several months, this restaurant proves to be the favorite of not only my office, but obviously several others as the tables are always full. "

March 2007 — "The Rose Garden is a wonderful restaurant in every aspect. The decor is authentic and fun with Thai statues and decorations all over. The atmosphere is lively and and the food is by far the best Thai in Calgary. I have been there for both the lunch buffet and for dinner, and they were equally good. The buffet offers all you can eat coconut rice, meat curries, spring rolls, chicken kabobs, and tons more. The staff are friendly and efficient."

May 2006 — "I recently went to Rose Garden for lunch. The buffet was clearly the thing to do (by the way, the place was packed so go early) so I followed suit. I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness and variety of dishes. The spring rolls -- both fresh and deep fried -- curries, noodles and desserts were top notch. I can't wait to go back and try something off the menu."
