July 2010 — "On our quest to find some food to cure our stomachs, we were enticed and persuaded by Maple Leaf Restaurant in Banff. The menu looked pretty intriguing and I guess I had higher hopes than I had expected, and though the food was good, I can't say that it was so amazingly delicious that I would go back again. It was unfortunate. We thought, with four people we could order some appetizers to begin with and share it. We had some ahi tuna and a scallop dish. Man, not sizeable for sharing for sure! About three pieces of each and though it was not bad, there wasn't any particular oomph! that made it any different than something I would make at home. I don't' think so at least. For the main course, we each ordered something different - There was a Bison Stroganoff, The Quebec Brome Lake Duck, the halibut, and I had the BBQ Wasabi Salmon. We each tried a little of each other's dish and I think if I could do it over again, I would have ordered the duck. It was just so tender and succulent. My salmon dish on the other hand was a little overcooked (ruining my experience). The ambiance and nice relaxing nature of the restaurant was very enjoyable, but the food was not worth the price. What a disappointment! "

December 2009 — "If you want to enjoy gourmet Canadian fare with flare, take yourself (and visitors) to the Maple Leaf Grill in Banff. Here you can have Alberta beef, bison or Canadian game cooked to perfection, while enjoying a wonderful selection of wines, many from grapes grown on Canadian soil. Maple flavors are creatively woven into many of the dishes such as the Maple Salmon, the maple butter sauce topping the delicious seared scallops wrapped in wild boar bacon. (Most likely the wild boar once roamed the Canadian wilderness.) Even the salad greens are topped with maple and poppy seed vinaigrette. You can veer off into other flavors, French influenced or Asian fusion dishes as well. From the tasty appetizers to the delectable desserts, the food here is fab enough to write home about. Our one complaint is that on a recent visit we seemed to have been seated in the “family area” – possibly because of our young teen, but service was still great and in spite of the placement we enjoyed ourselves ."

December 2009 — "5 out of 5 stars for this restaurant! The food was totally amazing, the presentation and the staff were excellent. I had filet of elk and it melted in my mouth. Excellent wine list and the spring rolls were out of this world. Best food in all of Banff!"
