"Holy Rubberplant Batman!"

September 2011 — "This restaurant is worth a visit if only to see the giant rubberplant and huge fig trees growing inside. The ceiling in many parts of the restaurant is glass and these plants have been growing for years. Very cool! The place itself has a bit of a retro feel to it, dated somewhere in the 70's or 80's, but still very appealing. I ordered the Moussaka that came with a Greek Salad. The salad was pretty good and made from fresh ingredients. The Moussaka tasted pretty much like every other Moussaka I have ever had at a Greek restaurant. Good, but nothing to rave about. Some people have gastro reactions to eggplant, so beware when ordering Moussaka. Will I ever learn? Our server was friendly and had a pretty good sense of humor. She told us that L and W stood for lots of work! Oh well, we gave her a good tip for her efforts! "

"What a Cool Place!"

September 2011 — "Ok, this place was very cool. I have NEVER seen a rubber plant as huge as the one in this restaurant, let alone the massive figs in some of the other sections. Complete this with huge mother-in-law tongue plants as well as a few other plants I’m not sure about, the woman who owns this restaurant has proven it can be done (that is, make house plants grow to the size of actual trees, in Jasper no less!). There is a solarium on both sides of the restaurant so plenty of light, and on warm days there is an almost wrap around deck with lots of potted flowers and tons of privacy. Our server was great and sat us under the rubber plant – we got the table where we didn’t have to skooch underneath a branch to get to our chairs. The menu had a variety of standard pub fare-like food, and then a whole section dedicated to Greek food. There was Greek music being played in the background, which set a nice mood. I opted for a smoked salmon and caper meal with pita, red onions and a delicious (and very garlicy) Tzatziki. It was very tasty and filling and was under $10. There was nothing wrong with this family-friendly place and I definitely would recommend it as a fun destination while in Jasper."
