January 2010 — "Tucked near the east end of town, The Inn Restaurant and Lounge at the Jasper Inn-Best Western is awaits discovery. Tastefully bridging the gap between fine and causal dining, apart from guests staying at the hotel, the Inn is a bit of a local's secret—and for good reason. If you're here in winter, one of the best ways to fuel up after a day of skiing is hitting the Inn's Saturday evening buffet. There aren't many other restaurants in Jasper where you can get salmon, prime rib, pork tenderloin and roasted chicken all on the same night. In the mornings (not exclusive to winter), the breakfast buffet is a glorious way to get started. Eggs Benedict, roasted potatoes, pancakes and crispy bacon make you feel like you're truly on vacation. If you aren't there for the buffet, the regular menu offers lots of options. I try to be adventurous and go for something other than the hugely satisfying full rack of pork ribs, as the salmon and the ribeye steak are both powerfully tempting. If it's a more casual affair, stick to the lounge and grab a sirloin burger over a pint. The staff make you feel at home and the price is right, too."
