March 2012 — "My wife and I had an incredible experience at Open Sesame on date night. The ambience throughout is very romantic. A great place to take that special someone for a special evening of wonderful exotic tastes, and great drinks. We had no idea what were getting into, but we were excited about the menu, and trying some new flavors. Open Sesame has a very original menu filled with very different asain cooking. A different spin and take on an old tradition and old classics. The flavors in the sauces, meats, and veggies are all secret sauces. But were so full of foreign flavors that I really enjoyed. A refreshing taste and menu that takes you from average boring to exciting roller coaster ride for your taste buds. We started out with the Ginger chicken and shrimp lettuce wraps which were an absolute hit! We love them and my wife is going to try to make them at home. For my main course I ordered the wasabi Salmon. I think I would go back just to have this again. I love the sweet with the wasabi and it reminded me of some japenese flavors you can find in sushi. The salmon was seared to perfection and left nothing to desire. Our server was hip, happy and ready to help us with anything we could need. He helped us with the menu as it is quite different. We had a great time at open sesame. The lighting set us into the right mood, the music serenaded us throughout our lovely evening together and we will be going back for more! "

"Unique Throughout"

February 2012 — "We had a wonderful date night at Open Sesame and will go again! I love the vivid lights, cool music, and mood throughout the whole restaurant. It was the perfect romantic place we were looking for. To try something new, and to find that special place to spend some close time together. It set our mood in the right direction. We had made a reservation a week before, which I usually do for fine dining. So we didn't have any worries getting a table. We gave our name and waited a cpl minutes only. After we were seated, I was delighted when going though my menu. It was really different than anything I had ever seen and was excited to try what they had in store for us that evening. I was surprised it was asain cuisine with a western new age kinda twist. I have wondered for years, what kinda food it was they were serving. We started with the lettuce wraps, which you can chose your fillers. We decided on the ginger chicken and shrimp ones. You basically get a bunch of lettuce wraps, and fill them up with the filling and chow down. It was a great way to start our meal. My husband enjoyed the Wasabi Salmon. I had the chicken katsu with their famous secret sauce. I don't know what was in it, but it was amazing. Unlike anything Ive ever had before. Fun Unique atmosphere throughout ! Try today!"

"No trip to the Asian market, but still wonderful tastes of Asia"

May 2011 — "Usually when I go to Open Sesame I choose the trip to the Asian market where I create my own bowl and let the chef cook up my chosen ingredients. This time however I was with a friend who didn't feel like making all the little decisions in regards to his meal so we both decided to order a la carte. I was somewhat disappointed as I thought the point of going to Open Sesame was that Asian market experience, but when my pad thai arrived I was no longer regretting my decision. I could argue the pad thai as one of the best I have tasted, it really was amazing. The flavours were rich and there was a ton of food which was unexpected due to the low cost for the meal! My friend's wasabi salmon was also delicious, despite the fact that some may be turned off by the idea of wasabi it was very subtly flavored -- just enough for a kick! Although their desserts sounded wonderful, I had no room left by the end of my meal, which is a good and bad thing -- I suggest if you want dessert order it first! "

November 2009 — "On a friend’s recommendation, we made a stop at Open Sesame, across from Chinook Center. It has some similarities to Mongolian Grill and a nice assortment of other options from the kitchen, but for the most part, a lot of people chose the do it yourself, hands on options. Pretty much, you go pick and choose the vegetables, protein and sauces you want for your dish and it is cooked right in front of you. Don’t worry if you don’t know about how or what to mix together because there are waiters and cooks there to offer some help and advice. Very appetizing and if you were not hungry to begin with, you will be when you finish watching. I decided to go another way and ordered something from the kitchen. The rice noodles and it was really good, although it would have been better if the hot sauce was on the side because it was just a little too spicy for me. As we continued on with our meal, the waiter came various times to see how we were doing. Our group unanimously decided that the decoration of the place was much better than Mongolian Grill and it definitely gives off an Asian feel. I did think that the do it yourself menu was a bit expensive, but it was a great experience, although once is more than enough for me. "

"Would return in a heart beat!"

April 2008 — "This was my first visit to this establishment and I will definitly be making a return trip. The food was awesome, and the fact that you could pick exactually what you want in your stir fry is great for picky eaters like myself. The one complaint that I have is that you really don't get a lot of meat for the amount of $$ you are forking out. Our server recommended a dessert and she didn't let us down, It was GREAT!! "

"Take the trip around the market"

Save Review

December 2005 — "Most people go to Open Seasame for the custom stirfrys, which I think are called 'Trip around the Asian Market' on the menu. It is well worth it - you are given a bowl and can fill that bowl as full as you can get it. There is a selection of vegetables, lentils, tofu, nuts and sauces to choose from. You can get it with rice or noddles, and you can also get meat, but based on my experience, the amount of meat they give you is just not worth the extra $3 or $4 they charge you. They also have a great beer selection, as well mouthwatering a la carte items and some terrific desserts (including banana wontons with chocolate!)"
