June 2008 — "As beautiful as Lake Louise is, Lake Moraine is even more spectacular and if you're after a meal at either place, the cafe in the Moraine Lake Lodge is a good choice. Consisting of mostly windows and contemporary in design, the restaurant is somewhat upscale but with a warm, inviting and casual feel. The one time I've been with visitors, the service and food was excellent, and while these may vary, the views will always be incredible. "

June 2008 — "The Moraine Lake is such a spectacular setting, almost more beautiful than Lake Louise, in my personal view partially because it is a lot less visited even during a busy time like the end of June when I was there last. The day was not the best grey, windy and in fact, cold so it was perfect that we could sit in the restaurant of the Moraine Lake Lodge in the glass conservatory area so it felt like we were on the patio could enjoy being warm inside. This was a nice place with comfy chairs with arms, and we ordered cream of mushroom soup, which came with three different kinds of bread and Italian dipping sauces and a Reuben sandwich. The sandwich was very good although a little to heavy on the hot mustard for my liking, I found it tickling my nose and making me want to sneeze, which would not have been good in that restaurant. The waiting staff was very well presented and very helpful and we had a very enjoyable couple of hours with food, conversation and views. "

Located at Moraine Lake Lodge, which is open from June through October, the Walter Wilcox Dining Room provides fresh Canadian cuisine in a stunning setting. Signature dishes include buffalo carpacchio with roasted pine nuts and deer tenderloin with red currants and juniper berries. An impressive wine list is also featured. Dinner reservations are highly recommended. The dining room is open for breakfast and dinner.
