December 2009 — "We were in Banff over Christmas and wanted a nice Beef dinner in a restaurant that we would be comfortable bringing our 18 month son to. He doesn't always have the easiest time staying quiet, but this restaurant was great. It was loud enough that any sounds of frustration he made were easily drowned out. They gave him crayons to play with in a really cool holder that kept him busy for a while. We especially liked the salad bar as there were a number of options to choose from to serve to such a picky eater.
Our waiter was very nice and polite. The food was exactly what you'd want after a day in the cold. Both my husband and I had the Regular cut prime rib and found it to be cooked just right."

"A vegetarian goes to a beef house"

April 2008 — "Bumper's is a great place, even for a vegetarian. Before going to a concert at the Banff Centre, I took my parents to Bumpers because of my dad's love of Ribs. The inside of the restaurant is remniscent of a chalet, complete with chandeliers, log walls, soft lighting, huge windows, and wood everywhere. The whole place smacks of an old west feeling. Every meal on the menu comes with the salad bar, consisting of 25 items, ranging from the normal pickles, carrots, and cherry tomatoes, to a whole variety of creamy salads, beans, and interesting dressings and fruit. The selection was great and the price was right. All told, there was little to complain about except the chairs were so heavy my poor parents struggled every time they wanted to get up from the table - perhaps a ploy to make sure there weren't too many trips to the salad bar?
Overall, I would definitely go back for the salad bar, and would recommend Bumper's to vegetarians who have meat-loving families!"

March 2008 — "I have been to Banff twice now and on both visits we always head to Bumpers. I simply love this place. So much so I have a Bumpers mug to drink my tea out of back home in the UK.
The staff are great and very friendly, the steak is fantastic and the salad bar is a great option !
The bar upstairs is also a great place to sit and have a pint and watch a bit of ice hockey!
Even my veggie girlfriend enjoys going !!
We will be back next March........can't wait !"

March 2004 — "We had to eat at Bumpers according to my friend. She eats here every time she goes to Banff. So we went. I thought it was no big deal, reminiscent of Bonanaza or Ponderosa from days of yore. The place is dark, which I supposed can be deemed as cozy. The best thing is the value for money at Bumpers. My food was good, but seemed standard (had beef on a bun). And every meal comes with a salad bar. So few places have a salad bar any more, so it was fun loading up on gherkins and too much blue cheese salad dressing. I don't know about their slogan. I'm pretty sure a Banff experience is complete without going to Bumpers, but it is good for families and tourists who want Alberta beef at a fair price."
