December 2010 — "Amidst a sea of sleek but somewhat souless and honestly not that much fun bars and pubs along Banff Avenue is Tommy's, a slightly run-down pub with enough spirit to make for a great night out in Banff. In fact, I'd say it's probably one of my favourite places to have a drink. It's unpretentious and rowdy and that's what I like about it. Tommy's has a good selection of food, but if you're looking for something healthy, this may not be the place -- most of the food is cheesy and fried like all classic pub fare. But it's tasty -- I like their paninis. But if you're not eating, Tommy's is still a great place to go. It's usually really busy on the weekend but I usually manage to find a table. You might even get a chance to talk to Tommy himself. But don't tell him it's your birthday unless you want a bunch of ouzo poured down your throat. I tried to resist, I swear!"

"Fun in Banff"

October 2010 — "We went to Tommy's on a recent visit to Banff for a friend's birthday. It's one of the friendliest pubs I've visited in town with lots of locals and a few tourists hanging out and having fun. It's located in a downstairs space so is fairly dark inside which adds to the atmosphere. The night we were there it wasn't incredibly busy but there were still quite a few people and it was a very boisterous group. We were too hungry so just ordered some snacks like fries and potato skins. Everything was good if not remarkable. It was typical, tasty pub food. They also have a good range of local and imported beers but we mostly just drank Saskatchewan favourite, Pilsner. It's not the best beer in the world but it's good for a party and the price is always reasonable. We ended up making pals with the people sitting next to us at the table and when the infamous Tommy found out it was our friend's birthday she had a complimentary shot of ouzo (or 2) poured into her mouth. It was a really fun night at a really fun bar. "
