February 2012 — "We were pleased with all the items we bought here, from the fruit cocktail to the sandwiches and the cookies. The cookies were especially delicious. They are quite large, $2.25 each. There is also a health cookie for $2.50 which is OK.
There are tables where you can eat - they will make you breakfast. But the atmosphere is that of a bakery, nothing special. Better to take stuff out. Prices are a bit high if you are on a budget.

October 2011 — "Laggan’s is located in the Samson Mall in Lake Louise and generally has reasonable prices for baked goods, light lunches, desserts and coffee. I had read very good reviews about Laggan’s a couple of years back and was pleased to finally have the chance to try it out. Sadly I was quite disappointed, not so much in the food, but in the place and the people serving us. The floors were sticky, every table had garbage on it from the previous customers, and those serving behind the counter acted (and looked) as though it was a horrible place to work. One of the servers was outright grumpy and rolling her eyes with the customer in front of us, and then walked away, muttering under her breath to another server as she worked on his order. The customer did not speak much English and had some difficulty conveying what he wanted. I can understand this likely happens (and may be somewhat frustrating) in touristy places like Lake Louise, but it didn’t make it right for her to be so overt with her annoyance. When it was my turn I felt like I was being rushed to make a decision even though I’d already made one! Not a great feeling. Despite the situation I had been waiting in line so decided to go ahead and order a hot veggie roll (like a sausage roll) and cup of coffee (all for under $6). The coffee was very good – nice and hot and full-bodied. The roll was greasy and lukewarm, although the veggies (pureed) were quite nice. It may be that this was a bad day to visit and I’ll likely try again but my first impressions were not great."

October 2011 — "After avoiding other places close to this deli because the prices were ridiculously inflated, I followed my nose into Laggan's Deli. The menu is on information boards behind the counter and after realizing I had missed their breakfast menu, decided to have the Shepard's Pie. It looked like a substantial amount for six dollars and seventy-five cents. It was actually very tasty as well. There was a lot of hamburger and a variety of vegetables like peas and corn embedded in the meat. The mashed potatoes were good too. I tried their coffee as well, and in retrospect should have ordered the dark roast as it was a bit weak for me. If you find Starbucks coffee to be a bit strong and bitter, you may find their coffee to be just right. In summary, if you find yourself in Lake Louise and just want some good food without breaking the bank, this place is for you. "

March 2008 — "After a long drive, my partner and I entered this bake shop in the Samson Mall in the village of Lake Louise seeking some refueling. Having a conversation with each other, I was commenting how I was going to start my meal with dessert: two large yummy cookies. A member of the staff interrupted our conversation and asked me if I was an American.
What a strange question. Nearly every day I am in Gatineau, Québec. I very much doubt that most Francophones think that I sound like an American. The bakery staff member was a Francophone gentleman.
Despite the awkward start to our search for lunch, I enjoyed a couple of very delicious cookies as appetizers to a good size sandwich. The sandwich was a bit of a challenge to eat while driving but that was my own fault for not enjoying my lunch before we got back on the road. Thankfully, our car had an automatic transmission.
Hint: check out the book store across the parking lot."

March 2008 — "On a recent driving trip from Calgary to Vancouver Island, we thought Lake Louise would be a good stop for lunch. We decided to visit Laggan's Bakery which is located in the Samson Mall in Lake Louise. Samson Mall seems to be a busy place with lots of shops to look through during a lunch stop.
My lunch order was a pastrami sandwich with a large peanut butter cookie for dessert. That cookie was large alright and a very delicious end to a meal. The sandwich was made fresh in front of us and was quite tasty as well. The many servers were friendly, chatty and kept us entertained while we waiting for our lunch order. I noticed many local people coming in from their outdoor activities to order lunch as well. This usually means that the establishment is worth visiting. The prices were reasonable for the amount of food received. And the menu had a varied selection of items. I will stop here again when travelling through Lake Louise. "

Located at Samson Mall, Laggan's is a bakery and deli serving fresh-baked breads and pastries. Sandwiches, made fresh to order, are popular with locals who make a habit of lunching here. A casual decor is created from black and white historical photos on the walls. Specialty coffees are also served.
