February 2011 — "I must say "wow" to those who helped create such a unique and wonderful place known as sultans tent. Now I did not think it would be so one of a kind from the outside,once I stepped in I really felt I left Canada behind.Inside is decorated with wonderful carpets and tent like settings as if you were the sultan himself coming in for a bite,the waiter had an interesting uniform with Aladdin baggy pants. He explained the style of the restaurant and washed our hands with special pouring utensils (a brass covered jug with a pot to collect the water),he explains that here, we dine using our hands only and that's truly something not done elsewhere. The menu was quite exotic,something for everyone. I ordered the cornish game hen.It did not take long and the food was delicious with interesting spices and sauces.It was quite filling, their proportions were fabulous and to be honest was quite affordable. They as well have a great selection of wines and is the best spot to take a date.Very hypnotic in atmosphere and great eats. Practically flawless!"

"Coolest restaurant in Calgary!"
December 2010 — "Sultan's Tent is definitely one of the most unique and memorable restaurants in Calgary. The atmosphere, as well as the above and beyond service makes it a great place to go for a special occasion. The food takes a long time but is worth the wait. I definitely recommend trying their meal for two, which is priced per person. You get to choose between a couple different options for your appetizer, main course and dessert. Moroccan food is delicious! Try the cornish game hen, and be sure to to try one of their traditional tagines, which consists of couscous and meat and veggies. If you like trying new food, and are looking for a dining experience that is out of the ordinary, this is the place to go. The scene is definitely set for a romantic date, so take that special someone and try some new food while being exposed to a cultural dining experience you won't forget! It is a bit expensive but you pay for the amazing food as well as the amazing experience. It's worth every penny in my opinion. "

"My favorite restaurant in Calgary"

December 2010 — "My boyfriend and I went to Sultan's Tent near Kensington to celebrate our anniversary. It is easily my favorite restaurant in Calgary, not only because of the delicious, authentic Moroccan food, but because of the amazing experience that comes with dining there. I recommend that you make reservations well ahead as it can be quite hard to get in without them. The atmosphere is like no other in the city, with the entire restaurant put together to resemble a Sultan's tent! There are flowing curtains hanging from the ceiling, the seating and tables are low to the ground and there are big throw pillows for comfort. The tables are separated by thin curtains which further add to the atmosphere. Very cool! The food is quite simply amazing. We ordered the Sultan's Feast which gives you the chance to try a bit of everything. From the phyllo pastry appetizer to the cornish game hen with honey and almonds for the main course , everything was perfectly executed. The service is humble and extremely gracious and the traditional Moroccan meal practices are very interesting, from the hand washing ceremony to the fresh mint tea served at the end. Keep in mind that you should allow ample time for a meal at Sultan's Tent. Amply money will also come in handy. "

July 2010 — "Sultan's tent is amazing. Exotically amazing. Not simple. I would say as a couple it is and has been one of our favorite restaurants since it opened years ago Downtown Calgary. It is something you cannot find anywhere else in the city. And such a beautiful place to spend a romantic evening with that special someone. We have gone 4 times. Twice at the old location, but they have since moved and are now located on 14st SW.
When you walk inside, the first thing you will notice is the decor inside. It is a Moroccan restaurant and is themed throughout. Tent style. Everything is attention to detail. You wont believe your eyes! You feel as though you have been whisked off to another country, and from the moment you step in the restaurant, to the moment you leave you are taken on this magical journey through Morocco and back. All staff are dressed the part! In Traditional Moroccan dress. The music is of course Moroccan and it just brings you there!
The air is filled with warm spice, and fragrance to enchant. The menu is unique and very mouthwatering. I think anyone could find something on the menu to enjoy. The food is mostly eaten without utensils, as is the Moroccan tradition, but utensils are available for the less adventurous.
You can order single things off the menu, or dive head first into the experience by ordering the 3 or 4 course meal, for $40/person.
I would defiantly recommend this place to anyone who is up for a good time, and to experience something new fun and exciting!! It absolutely thrills the senses and makes any special night into a night to remember forever! There is live entertainment on the weekend, including bellydancers! Make sure to make a reservation especially when going with a group. "

DescriptionThe Sultan's Tent is a unique Moroccan eatery that replicates the interior of a Berber tent. Moroccan dining rituals are followed and the menu features traditional delicacies such as couscous, tagines, and kebabs. A 2.5 hour six course 'Sultan's Feast,'is also available. Reservations are recommended. They are open Saturday through Tuesday from 5:30pm to 11pm and 11am to 11pm Wednesday through Friday.
