March 2011 — "Singapore Sam's Chinese Cuisine downtown is by far one of the best Buffet's I have ever been to. They run lunch and dinner buffet's daily, even on Sunday! Very affordable at only $13/ pp for an all you can eat meal. They have a very large selection of items to please anybody. They also have a hot wok mongolie grill, which is an original idea that I have never seen at any buffet in Calgary. You pick all your trimmings from veggie to meats to sauces, to noodles and they fry it all up for you. It is included in the all eat you can price. The restaurant is large, and beautifully decorated through-out. No need to get a reservation, and whether there are lots of people there or not, the food is always guaranteed to be fresh, and tasty! My favorite was the Sesame Chicken, and the wonton soup, just delicious."

March 2011 — "Let me tell you, Singapore Sams has to be one of the best places to get in on a buffet for several reasons:
Location, right downtown in the core of Calgary. You can be new to the city and you would still have little to no problems finding it.
wonderful service,I had no problems when it came to service, my server was very nice,easy going and was always there to assist me without hovering.
Variety,not only did they have a selection of all sorts of gingerbeef,seafood,vegetables,soups and deserts,they had a mongolie grill as well,splendid!
Affordable, ("the icing of the cake!")
Yes Singapore Sams will more than satisfy.This kept secret has to explode.The inside was very clean filled with all sorts of great pictures, paintings and heritage all over.Very authentic and something for everyone.I would give it top ratings in every category and I know I'm going to keep coming back,so check it out today!."

October 2009 — "Checked out Singapore Sam's downtown location for their lunch buffet the other day. In terms of lunchtime specials and quality of food, I don't think there's a better deal in the core than this place.
The buffet features at least 40 dishes, ranging from standards such as ginger beef and sweet and sour pork, to specialty dishes like beef and tomato stir fry and snow peas with chicken. If you enjoy Western-Chinese cuisine, this place will definitely be to your liking.
I came by around noon, so most of the dishes were still quite fresh, and unlike other places, when food runs out, it is quickly replenished.
The topper to this buffet, is the inclusion of a Mongolia-grill. You can get a freshly prepared stir-fry to go along with the rest of the buffet, which I found astounding considering that other restaurants offer the same thing, but charge more for it, and don't include the rest of the buffet!"

August 2009 — "I met up with some friends for lunch buffet at the downtown location on 11th AVE SW. I have to say that I was somewhat disappointed with their food. I will give it to them that I saw several dishes being filled up which means they were bringing out fresh food and refilling dishes as they were being eaten. However, I felt that the dishes were just okay. They did have a lot of variety and a lot different vegetable dishes but none of them stood out for me. The price came out to about $18 per person after tax and tips which I thought was a little expensive only because the food was just alright. Service was okay, they cleared dishes quite quickly so not too bad. Overall, I’ll probably go if nothing else is available and if others want Chinese buffet, but it wouldn’t be my top pick."

August 2009 — "We went to the location in the Calgary belt line for their lunch buffet, located across from the Keg along 11th Ave SW. The place was almost empty so getting a seat at noon was no problem at all. The buffet served the usual items like ginger beef, sweet and sour chicken, variety of fried noodles, sticky rice, chicken wings, battered shrimp, dumplings…etc. Food was not bad for a buffet, most of the items were fresh. Quality is what you can expect from a buffet restaurant, certainly not the best but for all you can eat for 12.95 you cant complain. They also have a grill station where you can choose fresh ingredients and the chef will cook it for you right in front of you. The same thing at Mongolie Grill would cost you an arm and a leg, so the fact that they offer this is pretty good. After the meal we hit the dessert station and was very disappointed! Their idea of dessert was just wagon wheels and Twinkies taken out of the package and out onto a plate. No joke, this is what their dessert station consisted of. They also have a self serve ice cream machine, which ended the meal nicely. "

April 2008 — "Checked out Singapore Sam's downtown location for their lunch buffet.
The buffet is certainly larger than alot of of downtown buffets, and the food provided in them is your standard western-Chinese fare.
Price point wise, you really can't go wrong, and the bins are regularly filled, so it's easy enough to get your fill of ginger beef, dumplings and salt and pepper squid.
Oh, and they have a Mongolian grill set up, so give that a shot."

February 2008 — "Dim Sum can be a fickle endeavor.
It always becomes a game of seeing what kind of pace the servers pushing their carts full of steamed goodness are going.
If they're moving too fast, and the distance between each new cart of food is small, a patron is in for a quick meal with little conversation. In other words a wholly unsatisfying experience.
If the carts are moving to slow, and the distance between each cart is to far, then a patron is in a an elongated meal in which they never feel full.
Luckily, the staff at Singapore seem to instinctively have the pace of Dim Sum down to a science.
While eating here carts seemed to appear the second my table was about to be cleared of what food was once there, making for a rather enjoyable experience.
The food itself is quite good. Especially the deep-fried taro-root dumplings, when ordered fresh, these might be the best in Calgary.
Singapore Sams on 32nd Avenue, might have the best Dim Sum in the city."
