July 2009 — "Viet noodles are usually a great staple for any type of meal, especially on a cool rainy day. It seems so simple, but when it comes down to it, it’s harder than it looks. I’ve had my fair share of the good, the bad, and the horribly spicy and oily noodle dishes that might has well be deep fried instead of soup dishes. Compared to other Viet noodle houses, Saigon Pearl hits top of my list because of its location and comfortable booths. The restaurant is in the northwest part of Calgary and well maintained. The restaurant is filled with booths and tables catering, to big and small parties and is very nicely decorated. The only complaint I have is on the business hours. It’s usually closed before 9, which is still pretty early. We ordered a noodle soup and a bowl of vermicelli noodles with spring rolls and chicken, which was seasoned pretty good and a definite palate pleaser. The proportions are pretty big and can be ordered to your liking. As for the soup, it wasn’t filmed with oil – always a good sign, and it was loaded with just enough of the flavorful herbs and veggies like cilantro and onions. Would I come back again? Why not?!?"

Items such as sizzling vermicelli, wrapping dishes, and noodle soups are all offered here and a variety of vegetarian choices are also available. Daily lunch specials feature barbecue pork, beef, quail or chicken. They are open Monday to Thursday from 11 am to 2:30 pm and 5 pm to 10 pm, Friday 11 am to 2:30 pm and 5 pm to 11 pm, Saturday 11 am to 11 pm, and Sunday from noon to 9 pm.
