August 2011 — "I have always driven by La Brezza in Bridgeland and meant to try it one day. I'm so glad that I did, what an absolute treat. From the moment I walked in the door I had a wonderful experience. The staff, the food, the level of customer service was nothing short of amazing. I loved that it was not a big building, it made the environment feel very intimate. I will definitely stop driving by and stop it much more often."

"Great Pasta"

December 2010 — "I’ve driven by this restaurant many times, but never really noticed it. The restaurant is on the main street in Bridgeland and is actually a converted residential house. At a quick glance, it looks like a regular house if you weren’t looking for a restaurant. Once inside, I found it quite intimate, and was interesting to see how they converted the interior to suit a restaurant. We were guided into the basement that was nicely renovated. Due to the layout, it felt a little too intimate with our neighboring diners as there is only about 4 tables down there. However, the food itself was very tasty. We started with the bruschetta which was good and tasted very fresh. It was a nice start to the meal. For my entrée I had the Fettuccini Alla Brezza, which was a a mushroom cream sauce accompanied by plenty of Italian bacon. The sauce was not too rich and was cooked just right. Service was professional and prompt and price is quite reasonable. Its not cheap like Chianti, but you can definitely taste the difference. I would recommend to any Italian food lovers out there. "

"We'll definitely be back"

November 2010 — "My wife and I decided to go to La Brezza for dinner as we were craving some Italian food and were told of this place by a friend. Upon arrival we were seated downstairs which made the experience quite cozy as we were seated right by the fireplace ... and being quite a cold night that was surely welcomed. Our server told us of the specials which all sounded quite tasty but we decided to order from the menu, which had quite a fine selection. After receiving a complimentary order of Bruschetta, I had the Escargot's to start as well as the Caesar Salad, and must say that the Escargot's have to the be one of the best, if not the best Escargot's that I have ever had, and the salad was finally made right using an anchovy dressing ... the way a Caesar salad should have. My wife had the Zuppa Di Cozze Gamberi (seafood soup) to start and after several having tried several spoonfuls we both were quite impressed of the quality and taste of the food at that point. For our main course I had the Linguini Mediterranean, and my wife ordered the Cannelloni Alla Brezza. I can honestly say that when our server first brought out the Entrees I thought that I will not be able to eat it all, but ended up cleaning my plate ... and I mean cleaning my plate ... with the leftover starter bread. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well, and even commented on the crepes that were used in her Cannelloni. We enjoyed a bottle of Pinot Grigio with dinner and that made it quite a perfect meal. I must say based on the quality of food, the fact that the owner actually stopped by and spoke with us, we would definitely be back as we are anxious to try the other items on the menu. Finally a great Italian dining experience in Calgary to talk about."

"A little too intimate in space"

November 2010 — "My boyfriend and I ended up here for our anniversary dinner. His sister had raved about this place as one of her favourites so we figured we had to give it a try. I think that this place used to be a house which is quite interesting. When we arrived, we were brought downstairs into a very small room, with a table next to their fireplace. It was a little awkward since there was only one other table there with a large family. I almost felt like I was intruding on their meal because there was only us two, compared to their 7 or so. They brought us bread to start, which I suppose is the standard. I appreciated that since we were starving when we got there. After scanning the menu, I ordered the Fettuccini Alla Brezza. I love pasta so I was really looking forward to this meal. Unfortunately, I wasn’t really feeling this dish. I don’t know why but it just didn’t hit the spot for me. It tasted fine, but maybe my expectations were just too high. My boyfriend was really happy with his dish, he said it wasn’t dry like you often find at other places. Because of this, and my reluctance to write this place off completely, I think we will give this place another go. I really want to have another Italian restaurant to go to, especially with their decent prices ranging at most in the $20 mark."

"An Amazing Eating Experience"

April 2010 — "My boyfriend and I went to Calgary for the first time together and had dinner at La Brezza on a Saturday night. We both had pasta dishes. I am sure the pasta is homemade as it was cooked perfectly and the meals were amazing and really reasonably priced at $15 & $19 (included prawns). The decor is open and airy and brightly colored. The owner stopped by a few times and was outgoing and social. You have to like that type of thing I suppose. 1 appetizer, 2 entrees and 4 glasses of wine - $87.00 plus tax & tip. We loved it and will go back again for sure!!!"

"One of the best in Calgary"

January 2010 — "A close friend of mine had recommended La Brezza for the place to go for some authentic, classic italian dishes. At first I was skeptical since I have tried many franchise Italian restaurants and were never satisfied with what they had to offer. Finding the restaurant at first was confusing as it is a house with a small sign stating 'La Brezza' which transformed into a restaurant. Parking was somewhat limited but we were able to manage. Once we stepped into the restaurant, we were amazed to see how elegant it was inside. Definitely a nice place to take someone special to for an Italian dinner. I had chosen the Linguine Mediterranean as I felt like some linguine pasta and seafood. Perfectly cooked noodles which I believe were handmade covered in a delicious rose sauce. Alongside this two jumbo shrimp, asparagus, and mussels. This dish tasted much better than the old run of the mill linguine dish's offered by most restaurants that I've come across where most were quite bland in flavour. To my surprise, the linguine dish at La Brezza was very flavorful and not heavy at all. I really enjoyed it since to me it felt like the first authentic Italian dish I have tasted in Calgary. Have not tried the other dishes but will do so upon my next visit. Friendly staff and service overall made the experience great for a local Italian Restaurant. Will go again. "

January 2010 — "La Brezza is in a small house in Bridgeland. It was a cold night, we almost got stuck in a drift and we were pretty happy to walk into a warm, welcoming environment. The place was buzzing and we were seated amongst a lot of people and found it very noisy, and so we moved to a quieter spot around the corner. The owner actually noticed we were looking a bit overwhelmed and took it upon himself to find the quietest spot in the room. We were given a lovely bruschetta as we sat and decided on our meal; it was garlicy and delicious. I started with classic Minestrone, a nice blend of chunky vegetables, almost like a stew! And for $5 it was a good start. I tried the "Vitello Saltimbocca" at $20 - this meal was veal with prosciutto, sage and a wine reduction. The veal was very tender and the blend of sauce and spice was really tasty. They offered a tomato based pasta as the side, which was ok but not the highlight. Overall a nice place to visit and worth your time."

October 2009 — "Went with some girlfriends, had some amazing calamari and good wine. The Chicken Gardeneira (sp?) was delicious, just enough of everything on the plate so I didn't feel stuffed. Menu had a lot of home cooked Italian classics, they apparently make everything fresh to order and are very accommodating with substitutions/special requests. Staff didn't rush us like at other restaurants and we were able to have an enjoyable evening catching up. Would recommend La Brezza for a nice evening out. "

"Great Food - Can't wait to go back!"

August 2008 — "From the moment we arrived it felt like a breath of fresh air. The decor was modern and upscale yet warm and inviting. The aroma that filled the air suggested we were in for a treat. The tables were all well presented and the restaurant was very neat and clean. We didn't have a reservation but fortunately we arrived early enough in the evening to be accomodated. In fairness to the restaurant if you plan on going I would recommend securing a reservation. Remember this was formerly a residential home so it small in comparison to the franchise type eateries we have become accustomed to. Now with that said, I would like to point out that what it lacks in size it makes up for in value. The menu is extensive and is sure to have something to please everyone. The prices are very reasonable and the special of the day includes free Bruschetta and your choice of Minestrone Soup, Ceassar Salad or Garden Salad. We had the Minstrone and it was loaded with chunks of vegetables simmered to perfection; their individual flavours retained in a pleasantly spicy minstrone broth. For our entree we had a medley of Grilled Salmon, Shrimp and Scallops accompanied by a side portion of fresh grilled vegetables and pasta. The Salmon was absolutely mouth watering and the flavour was exquisite. The Grilled Shrimp and Scallops were plump and equally well prepared, they completed the seafood experience. The vegetables were well prepared, cooked to retain their color, flavour and substance. The pasta was al-dente in a mildly spiced tomato sauce that I felt although good was not outstanding. If I were to make a suggestion here it would be to add a little more onion, a little more garlic, a touch of bacon and some parmesan to enhance the flavour and entice the palate. For desert we had the Zabagilone; a very light custard which has been whipped with champagne and some type of citrus flavoring or liquor. The Zabagilone was served with a light Italian style biscuit for dipping and was a pleasant and refreshing way to indulge and not later regret doing so. The wonderul attentive staff can take credit for suggesting this wonderful treat. All being said and done we had a very pleasant dining experience and would recommend this establishment to our friends and family. Again I strongly recommend you make a reservation as we noted that we had been extremely fortunate. By the time we were done I am sure there wasn't a seat in the house. I am sure glad we got ours! "

"Long waits not worth it"

August 2007 — "Live near La Brezza so we have gone there several times in hopes of it getting better. What you can expect on any given night: nice atmosphere, decent prices, extremely long waits for food (up to and beyond 2 hours), even longer waits for the bill, mixed up orders, cold and mediocre or poor food. The owner is usually present and schmoozes with customers occasionally to the point of nuisance. Waitstaff is friendly but otherwise below average. I would only recommend this restaurant to those who enjoy sitting for several hours. Avoid the veal at all costs as it is usually tough and frigid."

"Best Italian food in Calgary!"

February 2007 — "I recently spent time in Calgary on business, and when I asked where I could find good Italian food in Calgary, was told La Brezza, Hands down. Myself and a friend arrived for dinner on Friday evening, and were given a table by the window (The Ocean View). We found La Brezza to have a relaxed atmosphere, with great service, and food made from scratch to order. Next time I visit Calgary, I will definatly be returning for the rack of lamb, and the fantastic service! I highly reccomend La Brezza to anyone looking for a great Italian meal. Tanya"
