May 2007 — "I am new to Calgary and went with some co-workers to try something different. The waitress was very nice, but totally overwhelmed as she had to serve the whole restaurant. The meal was very pricey and the quality of food did not justify the price. I had coucus fassi and the chicken lacked any flavour and the dish was overflowed with rasins. The ambiance was ok if you want something different but didn't apear to be very clean. I would definately not return."

January 2007 — "I had my birthday dinner at this restaurant. The first thing I noticed was the rugged tapestry in bad need of repair and the back of the bench seemed to be falling off and jammed up to the wall. Our Table actually rocked enough that my wine almost toppled over on me. The area was poorly lit so it made it very difficult to read the very minimal menu. We ordered the Moroccan Feast,$42/per person And was not impressed with the first course, a tomato soup that was lacking of favor and substance. The second course was a salad of marinated beets, corn and carrots. The Beets were obviously out of a jar and the vinegar was overwelming, my only enjoyment out of this salad were the carrots, I let the waitess know I did not enjoy the beets or corn and had asked if I could have more carrots in thier place and her responce was astonishing. "the salads are pre-plated and this cannot be done." for our appitizers we had Briq of shrimp and the bstilla. The Bstilla was dousted in cinnamon and icing sugar it was sweet but satisfying. For Our main course we ordered the Chicken Tjine that was Tart with lemon and olives. It was nothing I had expected the lemon took over the dish and it tasted atificial. We also had the Coucous that came with chicken, lamb, sausage and prawns, the meat was tender but the chicken lacked in flavor and needed to be cooked a little longer as it was still clear/pink inside, on the other hand the vegetables were way over cooked. We asked for bread to go with the food and it came after our dinner was amost complete, we were still charged for it even though we told her it was not needed now. We constantly had to cue the waitress to bring us the next dishes. she seemed overwhelmed at times and slightly forgetfull. I felt bad for her, due to the fact that she was the only one serving the restaurant. When we had questiond for her she was quick to answer and very generic. She definately did not have the proper training and information to be the only representitive of the Moroccan culture. The decoration was limited to dusty rugs, and a few pottery peices. It was pretty pricey for such a run down restaurant.
