August 2010 — "Having driven past WASABI a number of times on 16th, I finally made a trip and gave it a try with a friend for dinner and I must say, it was pretty good. I mean, sushi is sushi, and there isn’t that much more. I liked that it was different and finding a place to park is not a huge challenge, but the bar where we had our meal shows that even later in the evening, around 7, the place is still pretty full with the average customer. I guess the most economically friendly order we could order was the luxurious boat, which has an assortment of all the normal rolls, sushi and sashimi numbers and we also ordered some extra stuff on the side, which delivered what I had expected. I remember thinking that the miso soup was alright, but a little weird and the salad was good, but the dressing was not my most favourite. For somewhere different, you could try Wasabi, but don’t expect it to be awesome, because you may be let down. "

"Authetic Japanese food"

April 2010 — "Only a few planes I've been to in Calgary have a Japanese chef at the sushi bar. Even though having a Japanese chef making the sushi doesn't mean it's better then not it sure maybe it seem more authentic and Wasabi definitely looks and tastes authentic. The selection is similar to most other Japanese places but you can really tell it's taste better then most. It's a pretty small place so unless you planning to go early and beat the rush, you might want to try them on an weeknight, not lunch or weekend. Other than that, the service and food is great, worth the slightly more expensive prices. It's nice for this place to have free parking as well and don't have to go downtown to china town. Overall no complains and will be back for more for sure."

June 2008 — "We tried Wasabi for the first time tonight as our usual Sushi house was over-reserved.
It was quite busy so we sat at the bar. I decided to order sashimi for the first time.
Excellent!
The food was great - hubby and I loved the spicy californian rolls. The oysters were delightful and I fell head over heels in love with the Unagi and Red snapper sashimi.
It was quite busy so we did wait a little bit - but considering how busy the place was, we were served in a timely fashion."

DescriptionWasabi offers a variety of sushi, sashimi, maki rolls, temaki cones, futo make and jumbo rolls. The menu includes miso soup, peanut sauces, salad and rice. They are open weekdays from 11 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 10 pm, Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 11 pm and Sunday from 4 pm to 10 pm. The dining room is smoke-free.
