November 2011 — "For work purposes, I was invited to the Red Water Rustic Grille located in Downtown Calgary. Not working downtown, I had to endure the outrageous parking charges to get my self to this restaurant. Upon my arrival, I was greeted warmly by the staff at the front. When the rest of my group arrived, our drink orders were taken quickly and arrived in an efficient manner. I ordered the steak sandwich, medium rare. A cranberry and soda was my drink of choice. When the food arrived, the steak was a generous 6 oz, topped with fried onions. At first I wasn't sure how to eat it because it was so tall. However, I managed to work my way through it and placed the fried onions on the side of my plate. My steak sandwich was perfectly cooked and extremely tender. The fried onions which came along went very well with the steak. My side dish was an order of sweet yam fries. They were excellent as well. The cost of the my meal came to approx. $17 for the steak sandwich. It was definitely worth the price. This restaurant has a great atmosphere along with great food. I will definitely be back!"

August 2010 — "The Redwater Grille in Bow Valley Square has a beautiful atmosphere paired with delicious food and drinks. The staff were very well put together and very friendly. Our server was very knowledgeable about both the menu and the wine list, which gave me a lot of confidence in my choice before it even arrived. Both I and my dining partner had one of their thin crust pizzas and we loved them!!! I would definitely recommend this menu item. The bbq chicken pizza is great for a pickier eater and the thai pizza was perfect for someone with more exotic taste.
Our server was very polite, as were all staff we encountered. The washrooms were immaculate and visiting them was an experience in itself! The whole dining experience was executed flawlessly and with speed, as we only had one hour for lunch. However, nothing felt rushed and our service was not compromised in any way. I would recommend this restaurant for its delicious food, sharp service, and beautiful decor. "

May 2010 — "For our anniversary we headed to the Red Water Rustic Grille in Bow Valley Square. The atmosphere was really nice, the tables were spaced well so you could have some privacy and the music was quiet enough that you could talk to the person you are dining with.
We were both starving so we decided to each order an appetizer. I couldn't help but want the mini lamb burgers. You get four with the appetizer and they had delicious caramelized red onions on them. They were not greasy at all and were totally mouthwatering. My wife had the chicken tacos, which I got to try and they were also very good, but were a bit on the spicy side - my mouth was burning!
For my main I had the strip loin with peppercorn sauce and mashed potatoes and beets. The steak was perfectly cooked and tasty, but I made the mistake of trying my wife's beef tenderloin with the same sauce and hers was even better than mine - melted in your mouth.
For dessert I had the apple cobbler with caramel ice cream. It was so good, but by this point I was definitely very, very full and couldn't even finish. The prices were average for an upscale restaurant, but the food was phenomenal, making it well worth it.
The service was excellent. I have a nut and shellfish allergy and they took special note of this. Even when the food runners brought out the dishes, they informed me that the kitchen knew about my allergies. Very impressive. The restaurant was also very clean. In fact, I saw the hostess actually disinfecting the menus. I was impressed. I will definitely be going back to the Red Water Rustic Grille in Bow Valley Square."

December 2009 — "I took a friend to the Redwater at the Stadium location to cheer her up; I can pretty well count on this restaurant to come through every time for me. The service is impeccable, the food consistently delicious, the decor interesting and cheerful, and the ambience calm and comfortable. I can be quite stingy so I have to really like a restaurant to spend good money and this is one of those places. On this visit, I chose the Rotisserie Fired Chicken ($24), and chose the garlic pablamo butter sauce of the three choices. I added roasted honey red beets and Israeli couscous as my two sides. Beautifully presented, the chicken was tender and the drizzled sauce was a nice compliment. However, I actually think the wine demi-glaze might be better as it is apparently less rich; at least that is what my server told me as I found the sauce a tiny bit much for my liking (but it was delicious). The beets were perfect and the couscous interesting (mixed with Butternut squash and sage). I had a glass of Pinot Grigio ($8.50) with my meal and had absolutely no room left for dessert. The prices range from $7 and up for soups/salads; $8 and up for appies; $24 and up for Entree's; $15 and up for pastas; and $14 and up for personal sized pizzas. I definitely recommend this restaurant as a place you can trust to deliver great food."

September 909 — "A small group of us were here for a birthday dinner on a Friday night. Food was ok but what prompted me to write this review was the horrible service from our waitress. I had to ask for my drink 3 times before getting it, our table was clutetered with dirty dishes and glasses that weren't taken away. We even had to resort to drinking water by refilling our own water glasses. After complaining to the manager th first time, she must have asked other wait staff to clear our table. The poor guy had his tray full of dishes and glasses, we counted he came around 5 times...and he wasn't even done. We asked for our bill and it took exactly 49 mins to bring it with the 18% automatic gratuity tacked in. So now we are forced to pay a tip on the most horrible service we've ever received in Calgary, because we were under the guidelines of parties 8 or over - even though we were 7 adults and 1 baby in an empty restaurant?! My friend flagged down the manager the second time to voice his concerns on the auto tip for the lack of service we received and how we waited 49 mins for the bill. She blamed it on how the computer system is not capable of splitting the bill and she will waive the auto 18% tip. No apologies on why we didn't receive any service in an empty restaurant, and how long we had to wait for the bill after asking for it. None of us will ever go back, despite the fact that half of us used this restaurant for business lunches on a regular basis with subpar service. But this hideous experience is just beyond belief."
