June 2011 — "I went to this elegant looking Italian restaurant during a lunch and it's quite large but was only half full. I sat at the bar where there were TV's and plenty of wine to choose from for those grape lovers. I ordered the lunch special which was a fusilli pasta with a creamy dill sauce and salmon. It also came with soup or salad so I chose the caesar salad. While I waited for my lunch, they brought fresh baked bun and butter which was hot out of the oven and hit the spot. I didn't even have time to finish the bun and my meal arrived....literally within 5 minutes. The speed of the service worried me a bit because I thought I'd be getting some salmon cooked straight out of the freezer but it was quite the opposite. The salmon tasted fresh and not fishy. The cream sauce was not too heavy and just right. My only recommendation would have been to use fresh dill rather than dried dill. The caesar salad was also really good since I could tell they make their own dressing. I could really taste the garlic and anchovies which I much prefer over some Kraft mass-produced dressing.
This place serves as a great business meeting spot or romantic date night."

February 2011 — "This restaurant is a comfortable, standard Italian pasta eatery. It serves good traditional food. There is an $8.99 pasta deal Sunday through Tuesday inclusive. The greeter was friendly and fairly well-organized. The service was appropriate throughout the meal. The menu has a wide range of pasta combinations to choose from with other entrees available if not looking specifically for a bowl of pasta. Nice wine options were available. The portions were generous, often with leftovers to take home. Everyone in the party I was with said their meal was quite good and there were no complaints about any of them. The pasta special is an excellent deal but as for the pricing of the rest of the menu, it was average. It would be a great spot in the summer with plenty of tables outdoor on the prime 17th Avenue for people watching. I would go again on another pasta special night."

February 2011 — "Located in trendy 17th avenue in Calgary, Fiore has been there for what seems like an eternity. Heading out with a few friends, we decided to hit this Italian restaurant as it was conveniently located in a central location to us all. Upon entering, we could hear the vibrance of the restaurant, and were seated only a few minutes after arriving. The restaurant was clean and updated. Lucky us, it was a Sunday that we were there, and Sundays offered an $8.99 pasta meal after 4:00pm. I had the cannelloni, which was stuffed with veal and spinach. The food arrived piping hot and fresh. The others in my company had lasagna which they also felt was quite decent. The service was excellent, the ambiance was lively and quaint, and the price (although a Sunday special) was unbelievable. I would definitely recommend Fiore to anyone looking for decent quality Italian food, and a great price. Now I see why this establishment has been in business for so many years."

July 2009 — "I stumbled upon this restaurant while doing some shopping on 17th ave this summer. I was pleasantly surprised with the food and service we received as I had never heard of this restaurant before. If you like pasta Fiore is a must. The lighting is romantic and the place is quite small and intimate. The waiting staff are dressed well and very friendly. For my meal I chose the butternut squash pasta which was to die for. It came with a balsamic sauce which was unique and tasty. I could go back everyday for more. My boyfriend chose the baked lasagna, which he inhaled. He told me it was the best lasagna he had ever had. He was a little disappointed with the portion size stating it could have been bigger; however, I felt the portions were good as it allowed me to have room for dessert, which I am glad I did. The tiramisu is the best I have had. This restaurant is an awesome place for a romantic dinner with someone special."

June 2009 — "A friend and I met here for lunch a few weeks ago to chat and catch up. I had heard that the food here was really good. I have to say that I was disappointed. Now, don't get me wrong. The food was not bad; it's just that when you hear good things about a place from those around you, you tend to have high expectations. When we first got there, it took a little time for them to actually seat us even though it was empty. Maybe they weren't expecting people and weren't paying attention to the door, I don't know. After being seated, and glancing at the menu, I ordered the alfredo (I'm not very daring at new places). Again, it was okay, nothing to rave about. I felt it was a bit dry. I don't remember what my friend ordered but she did finish it all so I assume it was really good. Or else she was really hungry. I myself had leftovers to bring home. You know those meals that taste even better after they've sat for a day? This was not one of them! It only got worse. As for the pricing, it was alright. The only positive that I may see in this place is that they do have tables outdoor and this is on the prime 17th Avenue so perhaps if you want to go for the experience of people watching on 17th, that might be fun. For me, probably won't be going again. "

May 2009 — "Let me tell you why I love to go to Fiore's. It is not just because it is blocks away from my home and feels like an extension of my own dining room. The staff is friendly, cheerful and attentive. The atmosphere is comfortable, not too crowded, and usually has great music. The patio is a great place to watch people strolling along 17th Ave; and who doesn't enjoy people-watching on 17th Ave?
Not to mention, the food is great. It is consistent, flavourful, and some very inventive pastas are included among traditional favourites. I love the butternut squash ravioli with the honey balsamic reduction. I love the cheese raviolis, and the pesto cream sauces, and the tomato pesto sauces. I love the fresh bread, and the bruschetta. And on days that I'm feeling a little b-a-d, I really love the cheesecake too!
The best part is that, if you go to Fiore's Sunday-Tuesday, they have $7.99 pasta. That makes it cheaper than groceries. I love going to Fiore's. It makes me happy."

November 2008 — "I have been to Fiore twice now. Once on a Saturday night with a girlfriend. The service was ok, but slow and the food was nothing memorable. The second time was last Saturday for a friends birthday. I probably wouldn’t have come back but for the fact she wanted to try it, so I gave it a second chance. There were 8 of us and the restaurant was packed, thankfully we had a reservation. My friend chose this place for her birthday dinner because it was moderately priced, everyone who was going liked Italian cuisine, and it was right on 17th ave so we could go for drinks afterwards. The décor is quite nice. The first thing that I did not like was that when some of my friends arrived (they arrived before me) the hostess did not give them any menus. When myself and another arrived three food menus were brought to the table; for 8 people. We ended up having to ask the waitress for some more. The drink service was ridiculously slow, I know it was busy and it could have been the bartenders fault or whatever, but we all had wine which is not hard to pour and no explanation of why it was so slow was offered. All in all I think the waitress said about 5 sentences to us the whole time we were there. She wasn’t rude or anything it was just base-level service and slow. When the food arrived promptly my mood improved; only to become sour again once I tasted it. I had a side cesar salad and a half order of a baby shrimp and clam pasta in tomato sauce. The cesar salad had little to no dressing and the lettuce was of very poor quality. I would have complained and gotten something else had the waitress come back to check on us before everyone was practically done eating. The pasta wasn’t worse but wasn’t really better. Although served piping hot and with a nice amount of seafood, it was just really bland; I make a better tomato sauce at home. The only redeeming moment of the night was when the waitress did not mind splitting up our bills, and did it promptly and properly. All in all, I would not go there again or recommend it. There are way better Italian restaurants in Calgary. I think this place stays in business just because of it’s location; it’s hard not to busy on the heart of 17th ave."

July 2007 — "I've been to Fiore's many times. It's one of the few restaurants left in Calgary that actually seems to have enough staff. I've never waited particularly long and the prices are very reasonable. The service staff always seem to work as a team, so you'll often find the person who gave you your complimentary bread is not the same person who brings your meal. However they organize it, it's working.
They could definitely improve their wine selection, but the pasta is always tasty. I recommend the Tortellini Sasha (Vodka Sauce), very tasty.
The patio is usually great during summer, except the increasing problem of homeless people results in sometimes uncomfortable situations with being asked for change while you're eating. If that kind of thing bothers you at all, sit inside for sure."

April 2007 — "We went to this place after a friend suggested it. The only thing is that they totally changed the menu and the atmospher. Really didn't like it at all. The placement of the tables was really cramped so my husband had to keep getting up to let the waitress by to get to the tables by the window. Food was nothing spectacular either. Wouldn't drive all the way across the city to go again!"

September 2006 — "Fiore has a contemporary atmosphere and serves reasonably priced Italian dishes, including a wide range of pasta. Last night I ordered the French Onion Soup and the Bombay Tortellini (curry cream sauce). So delicious. We also ordered a carafe of House Red and it was very tasty. The service was excellent, with a team of servers embarking on the table and helping each other out. Overall, it was a good dining experience"
