February 2010 — "A friend and I were going to a movie at Eau Claire Market and were looking for somewhere to get a bite to eat first. As we didn’t want a food court type atmosphere, we headed to Prego Italian Restaurant located in Calgary’s Eau Claire Market for an early dinner before the movie. I wanted to have popcorn at the movies so didn’t want to have a filling heavy meal so I opted for an appetizer as my main meal. I chose the beef skewers which came with 2 skewers that was served with a tomato red pepper relish type of sauce. Although my meat was a little over-cooked for my liking, I was still quite satisfied with it and would order it again. My friend had the special of the day which was salmon topped with crab claws served with potato and vegetables. We shared a dessert of Tiramisu which was quite large and perfect for sharing.

September 909 — "A group of us were taken out for lunch at work as a thank you for a strenuous project we just completed as a team. I had never been to Prego, located on the top floor of Eau Claire Market, nor had I ever heard anything about it. Our first move was to order some champagne, which they didn't seem very knowledgeable about. They also only had one bottle in stock. The waiter proceeded to setup the standing wine bucket with ice at the end of the table and the whole thing tipped over, spilling ice water all over the floor and the legs of the girls at the end. Not a good start....Things did improve though! I started with the spinach salad which had strawberries, pear, blue cheese and toasted pine nuts. My main course was the Penne Pescara, which had chunks of salmon and halibut, a skewer of prawns, and a garlic cream sauce which I chose instead of the standard tomato sauce. I finished with a latte and an amazing piece of tirramisu. The service improved substantially after the water spilling incident and the food was absolutely superb. The atmosphere was classy, and not too overdone to make it snooty seeming. I would recommend Prego for a romantic date or for a lunch out. The food really was the best part. "
