August 2011 — "Based on the outside, Shima is surprisingly beautiful on the inside. A lovely exposed brick interior with views of the water make this a place to go back to. The sushi itself was average, nothing out of the ordinary when compared to all the other sushi places existing in BC, but the friendliness of the staff make up for it. Prices are reasonable, not too high or low, and there are options. I had a yummy geisha martini that had just the right combination of alcohol and flavour. I had a sushi combo that included beef teriyaki, California rolls, and a couple of pieces of sashimi. Like I said, nothing too standout, but the fish was fresh enough and the portion was generous. The next time I’m in Victoria, I’d probably go back."
