October 2011 — "While staying at the Glacier View Inn, at the the Columbia Icefields, we decided to check out their dining room. Considering that there was no other restaurant nearby, I was pleasantly surprised at the prices in the dining room. They seemed on par with most mid-priced restaurants in Calgary or Edmonton. It was also very cool to have a view of the glacier while we ordered and shared a glass of wine. Our server was excellent and very friendly. He seemed to enjoy chatting about a variety of things, even though his 15% gratuity was automatically added to the bill. (There was no tip option when I later paid with my Mastercard either.) I tried the Wild Sockeye Salmon for about $23, and it was excellent! It came with asparagus, caulifower, red pepper, and mashed potatoes. Everything tasted great! I ordered a bottle of Bin 50, Lindemans for $36. It is about $11 or $12 bucks in stores. A bottle of Wolf Blass Yellow Label, an $18- $20 wine in stores was about $45. "
