July 2011 — "Despite the long and fancy name the recently opened Toque International Lounge was quite an average pub on a recent visit during the Calgary Stampede. Maybe it due to the Stampede festivities and decorations at the time it was difficult to see the actual decor of the pub. It is located just a block off of the Red Mile's 17th Ave and 16th Street so the location is rather convenient and it is a good place to check out if you prefer to avoid the large crowds and line ups on 17th Ave. The pub itself was nothing too special and we only stayed a little while for drinks. As mentioned earlier in this review we visited during stampede so everyone was dressed up in cowboy attire and the music being played was strictly country. It could be a very different place otherwise but you're going have to go for another visit to find out. "
