September 2011 — "If you are craving a Vietnamese Sate soup and like peanuts you have got to try the Beef Sate Noodle Soup which is in a peanut broth.... Truly AMAZING!! We order it as takeout at least once a month at our work and its always incredible. The broth is thick and it comes with the noodles and sprouts on the side. I am able to make it last for two meals because the large is very filling. I believe its a husband and wife that run the restaurant and they are very sweet. I was waiting for our order and the husband insisted that I have a (complementary) apple juice and he was kind enough to carry our order out to my vehicle. The prices are low and I have enjoyed other items on the menu such as the prawn Salad Rolls and Vermicelli. If you are of the adventurous type and enjoy avocados you should try the Avocado Smoothie, which is a meal on its own. They are closed most Sundays unfortunately but are open on Sundays of long weekends"

Dec 0 — "The first thing I noticed about the Bowness Vietnamese Restaurant is that it hasn't made an attempt to look like a Vietnamese restaurant. The furniture, walls, and decor are decidedly generic and could be in almost any type of restaurant. I ordered #29 on the menu, shrimp balls, and two other kinds of meat balls, and spring rolls on vermicelli. I enjoyed them all, but I was a little put off by the sponginess of the meat balls. To be honest, one variety, reminded me of the canned meat called Spam. Once I got over my initial shock, I ate everything on my plate and enjoyed the food a lot. They have two types of tea available, Green, and Jasmine. Each pot costs $2.10. This place is quite affordable in general, with almost all menu items being less than $10. My dish was $8.95. I also tried a Bubble Tea. At first there seemed to be an unbelievable number of little tapioca bubbles, but unfortunately the bottom half of the tea was almost devoid of them. Strange, as I know this is not usually the case. I would return and try other items on their varied menu. "
