November 2011 — "How many good things can I say about Blue Star? - sooo many! Love that they are in Bridgeland, and also love that they support local farms. My coffee was excellent, they had two blends to choose from. They do not serve lattes, or any espresso here. For brunch I ordered Uncle Elenko's Plate which had: 2 eggs, garlic sausage, hash browns, 3 perogies, sauerkraut, beans and toast. Needless to say - I had to save half for the next day's breakfast! This place is tiny and all the tables are quite close together. It was also quite noisy, I had extremely loud neighbors on both sides of my table. This is not really the fault of the restaurant, just inconsiderate people. :( But, I will go back!"

"Delicious Breakfast!"

September 2011 — "Blue Star Diner just opened in Bridgeland, which is pretty close to our house in Renfrew. I was a bit saddened that Artisan Bistro had shut down and this had taken its place, but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised on my first visit to Blue Star. They have totally renovated the restaurant and given it a modern and bright feel. I went on a weekday around 10 so it wasn't overly busy. We were greeted right away and the server brought me some delicious coffee and orange juice. The menu is filled with lots of mouthwatering things, but I chose to have the Two Bean Burrito, which consisted of eggs scrambled with bell peppers and pickled onions wrapped in a flour tortilla with black bean corn cilantro salsa, Gouda & refried beans. It was garnished with fresh avocado, sour cream & salsa and was delicious! The potatoes it was served with were also very good. It seems like they are using eggs, meat, etc from local farms, and I really could taste the quality of the ingredients in my breakfast. I also had half my wife's Back Bacon & Grilled Tomato Benny, which I thought was very good too. The entire experience was really good and I will definitely be back!"
