February 2012 — "I enjoyed a fantastic chick pea fritter sandwich here and I will most certainly go back. It was excellently priced for the quality of the food and it was at a calibre above other establishents in the area. It was an excellent choice for a lunch, and when the weather is a bit warmer, the patio will be awesome!
Server was attentive and it was fun to watch sandwiches being made. Seating is a bit strange - Not my favourite, but most people seemed to not mind the social atmosphere."

September 2011 — "We stumbled upon this wonderful little restaurant in Central Memorial Park downtown after wandering through art galleries for the annual artwalk festival. It is a small restaurant with about 15 or so tables on a sunlit patio, complete with burnt orange umbrellas for those really hot, sunny day(s) in Calgary. There are more tables inside and the ambience is great, inside or out. Our server was very friendly and efficient, and we never felt any pressure to rush. The menu is very interesting and offers alternative food choices which cater to those who would like to try and reduce their carbon footprint and the impact on our environment - organic, locally made or grown, free range...very impressive. I tried out the peach salad, complete with blue cheese, walnuts, arugula and a tasty Cabernet vinegar based dressing for $10 - while it wasn't a huge salad, it turned out to be plenty for a lunch meal. I also tried out the pressed coffee Phil & Sebastian - my eating partner highly recommended it ($3) and it was delicious - smooth and rich without a bitter aftertaste. I would highly recommend this fabulous and funky little outdoor cafe."

June 2011 — "This place is about the size and shape of a railroad car, hence the name Boxwood. It's quite new and situated in Central Memorial Park. It's always busy and has a rustic wood interior and the large glass pyramid shaped roof that allows as much natural light as a person could ever want. The menu only has a few items but all are sure to be unique, healthy, fresh and locally grown/raised.
I had the Spragg Farm Spit Roasted Porchetta sandwich for $10 and it had tonnes of pork, beautiful greens, and a nice condiment. I also had the special salad of the day which was grilled asparagus, tomato, goat feta, and a balsamic vinaigrette. For $9 I was quite disappointed with the size. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious and fresh but about half the amount I expected.
I also had a localled brewed Brew Brothers Amubush amber ale which was tasty at $6/pint.
There were some interesting teas and deserts for anyone interested so this place really can cater to all personalities.
I can't say enough about this place. Perfect social gathering spot with some long tables or romantic tables for date night.
