November 2011 — "My wife is a huge fan of schnitzel, and though there are few places in Calgary you can find it, we are always looking for a new place to try, so we can keep going there as long as we can. Well a new schnitzel place has opened downtown.
And we decided to try it recently.
Schnitzel sounds like something funny, something a picky person would turn their noses up to.
But schnitzel is really just different types of meats ground up and put into wraps with sauces, and fresh veggies. Like a donair kind of.
That Schnitzel Place really is more of a fast food atmosphere, not appealing decoratively or esthetically pleasing to the eye. From outside, it really doesn't appear to have anything much going for it.
But when it comes to restaurants, I know from experience, that looks can be very deceiving.
The Schnitzel they serve here, is really the best Ive ever tried.
Traditional, sweet meats, wrapped in soft bakery delights full of flavor and warmth.
We have found our new place to call our schnitzel home, and we are hoping it will stick around for sometime! "

November 2011 — "I am a big fan of schnitzel, but there are very few places in Calgary where you can find it.
A new place downtown on 6 avenue just opened up recently. And we were eager to try it.
So last week we finally did!
Schnitzel is a piece of meat (usually veal, but pork fillet is a good substitute) that has been beaten to a flat shape. Then it is dipped in seasoned flour, beaten egg and finally breadcrumbs. It is usually served in a sandwich or wrap. Very good!
That schnitzel place has amazing schnitzel! Its really not much on the inside, the restaurant itself, but the staff are warm and friendly. Clean, inside and in the bathrooms. Really more of a fast food setting then a dine in restaurant. Although, there is adequate seating available. They have chicken, beef, pork, and veal schnitzel. I had the chicken it was one of the best Schnitzel wraps i have ever had! I will defiantly be returning again! "

March 2011 — "Vienna Lux is a restaurant that was recently opened in 2010 on the corner of 4th Ave and 8th Street in downtown Calgary. It a place that caters to the downtown working crowd as it is only open until the afternoon. It features something known as Schnitzel's which is a type of Austrian sandwich made with flour coated and deep fried meats. There is a limited selection of sandwiches on the menu but all of which are very tasty. You can choose between wiener (a type of veal), pork, chicken, and their famous kaiser sandwich. A schnitzel sandwich can only be described as something that looks a lot like a big hamburger. Inside the bun is filled with sauteed onions and other veggies but the heart of the sandwich is the schnitzel. Each schnitzel sandwich costs around $8 but the size is large enough to fill most people up twice. The service is very speedy and friendly. "

March 2011 — "This place is a quaint new place downtown that offers traditional Austrian schnitzels of various meats. And you know it's authentic because most of the staff has thick Austrian accents. The wiener schnitzel is veal, and there is also pork and chicken. A schnitzel is meat that is pounded thin, breaded then fried and man is it tasty. The schnitzels cost $7.95 which is fair considering it is two layers of meat on a huge kaiser bun. You can add some free toppings such as purple cabbage and sauteed onions. Or pay $1 for some toppings such as roasted red peppers. The schnitzels also come with a tomato sauce which could use some garlic for flavour. I tried the wiener schnitzel with roasted red peppers and purple cabbage and it was really filling and tasty. Don't expect to eat it without sloppiness but it's all part of the experience of trying something out of the ordinary.
They also had a nice sounding daily soup that I wished I would have tried. It was red lentil soup. They also offer some high end espresso and coffees to spruce up your day.
The place is quite clean including the bathrooms with a spacious layout and contemporary decor. There was no music but instead a tv blasting BBC news which was kind of a mood killer with all the negative things going on in the world these days. Nonetheless, the staff is really nice and they offered me a free desert. They described it as cinnamon cottage cheese but to me it was incredibly bland, without sweetness and just a ball of bread with no cottage cheese to be found. I hope they don't try to put it on the menu and charge for it."
