March 2011 — "I have driven by Spoonful many times without noticing it. It is one of the doors in the old Bowness Hotel building on Bowness Rd. NW. It was mid afternoon and there were only a few customers. They specialize in Chinese and Thai cuisine. I tried the Spicy Ginger Beef with steamed rice and Chinese Tea. As the name implies, the Ginger Beef was spicy, but pleasantly so, and there was plenty of food. Most plates cost about $10, with Shrimp and Seafood $14 or $15. My only complaint was that the bowl of steamed rice was not enough to match the huge plate of Ginger Beef. Spoonful offers several appetizers, ranging from egg rolls for $4, Sliced BBQ Pork for $6.50, and Thai Golden pouch (8 pieces) for $10. Soups, depending upon size and flavour, ranged from $4.25 to $12.50. The restaurant is fully licensed and the house wine cost about six or seven dollars. I enjoyed reading the National Geographic magazines that were available while I waited for my meal. Check it out if you have the growlies while in the Bowness area. "
