September 2011 — "The Hi Ball Restaurant is located in the Stadium Shopping Centre, near the University. Most of the plates were less than $10, and the selection was very good. The servers were very friendly and made us feel welcome. I ordered the Sweet and Sour Pineapple Chicken dish. It arrived as a heaping plate, almost overflowing. Even though the cook had somehow forgotten to put any pineapple in the Pineapple Chicken, it was still delicious! Go figure! I looked around at the room. The drop ceiling was a colorful backlit dragon painting. I thought that was a nice touch. The tableclothes, although attractive, were made of plastic, so no need to feel bad if you spill a bit. Drink prices were very reasonable. White and red wine by the glass was $3.95 and other drinks were also in the $4 range. Definitely can't complain about that! Good food and drink on a budget! Check it out."

"Not so fresh Chinese Buffet"

May 2011 — "I have been going to Hi-Ball Restaurant for about 10 years now. I have never really had a bad experience there, but recently I went for their Lunch Buffet on a Saturday afternoon.
I was very unhappy with the food, and the service I received. Upon arrival there was no food really in the Buffet, it seemed as though all the food had been eaten and they had no intentions or plans of filling up the food for the lunch crowd. My sister and I picked through what they had and they did fill a couple items while we were there, but we ended up paying full price for a limited buffet with very few items to choose from.
The food they did have was flavor-less and very disappointing. Hi- Ball usually has very good food in their all you can eat Buffet for a very reasonable price.
But after this time, I don't think I will ever go back, it seems they have gone very down hill from their old High standards.

"Great Chinese! "
February 2011 — "My girlfriend and I went to Hi-Ball for their Chinese buffet on a Saturday. It's really close to the U of C/ McMahon Stadium in the NW. I'm pretty sure they only have a lunch buffet on the weekends, but it was a pretty good price and the food was delicious! Everything was really crispy, hot and fresh. The quality was outstanding, as often in buffets, it can be quite poor. The buffet wasn't huge, but all the most popular items were there. My favorite was the ginger beef and the chicken balls. All the rice and noodle items were great too! They kept the buffet fully stocked even though it was super busy. The staff were really friendly. The atmosphere is that of a typical Chinese restaurant with Chinese decor etc. I would be interested in ordering takeout sometime and trying their menu items because the food was really really good! "

"Best lunch buffet! "

February 2011 — "I have been going to Hi-Ball for quite a few years now. I used to live over by the University and that's when I discovered it. Located in a little strip mall, it's the kind of place that you wouldn't even notice, but going in for their lunch buffet on a Saturday, you can tell that the place has managed to gather quite a few loyal customers! It's always really busy! I have never ordered food from the menu. I always go for the buffet. It's relatively small at about 20 items, but the food is always fresh and of great quality. At $10 a person, you really can't go wrong! Everything is always clean and the plates at the buffet are always hot, which is kind of an added touch. They used to have a soft icecream machine but now just have a few desserts to choose from, none of which are that good. But as far as Western Chinese food goes, it's a great place to eat! "
