February 2011 — "The North Hill Steak House is located near SAIT on 16th Avenue NW. You can't miss the big sign on the highrise part of the building. It looks a bit like a Vegas Hotel. The lounge section of the establishment has glass walls and ceilings and can be very pleasant on a sunny day. I checked out the restaurant section. They have a lot of Seniors menu items. I ordered the Lasagna and the size was respectable. I was surprised that the typical tomato sauce was replaced with more of a brown meat sauce. Once I got used to the lack of tomato, I realized that the flavour was very good. I would have liked more cheese though. I was impressed with the wine and beer prices. For about $6 you can have eight oz. of red or white house wine. (Gato Negro) Gato Negro is an inexpensive wine from Chile, and is good value for the money. Domestic pints were about four and a half dollars. The North Hill Steak House also has daily specials. Thursday is any pasta for $9.99 and Wednesday is a pizza and Caesar Salad for $9.99. Considering the good prices on drinks and specials, I was surprised that they charge $6 for desserts. Several appetizers are offered. (DryRibs $8, Crab Cakes $9, Sesame Ginger Pork Dumplings $8, and Nachos for $12. I would definitely stop in again for a drink and to try out another of their menu items. "
