December 2010 — "Korean food in Calgary is not the easiest to find and good, authentic Korean cuisine is more like a hidden gem. Taking a newbie to the restaurant is an experience for sure. Club House is a place that my friend introduced me to and I believe it be above par. We ordered the bibimbap, a big plate of glass noodles and some of the marinated Beef bulgogi for four people to share and I think it was a pretty good meal. Customarily, the snack foods that comes at the beginning of the meal and but it pretty much came right before. I mean, we barely had time to dig in before our main courses came. It was alright though. I think for a first attempt in Korean food, it was a success. The Bulgolgi was super tender and it was very well marinated. The glass noodles were really good too, but a bit oily. All around though, I really enjoyed the bibimbap (stone rice) the most. It was hot and just really good. Just wish there were more of it to go around. "

"A Hidden Gem! "

December 2010 — "A hidden gem located down on Home Road in the NW quadrant of the city! This is probably my most frequented Korean restaurant. This place looks shabby on the outside but have amazing food. Well, being no Korean expert, I think their food is pretty good and I do see a lot of Korean people eat here!
I came here for a friend’s b-day party in December and it was nice that we were able to have a private room with sliding doors that could probably hold 20 people. The nice thing about dinning here is you have a buzzer at your table so you can hit the button if you need service or refills etc. The staff here speaks very little English but they are super friendly and I have no complaints about the service.
In terms of food, we usually order a few dishes and split them and in general, you can get away eating a good meal for under $20. The usual dishes we get are the Dolsot Bibimbap, marinated ribs or beef (Bulgogi) and glass noddles (Jap Chae). I’m also a big fan of their cold side dishes!
Being a Korean restaurant, you can also bbq meat here if you would like, but once again, be prepared to smell meaty and smoky regardless! I would recommend leaving your coats in your car before coming in!
