January 2011 — "I’m getting really tired of going to supposedly “outstanding” breakfast hideouts that offer a breakfast no better or worse than a greasy spoon, but that for some reason costs substantially more. Thankfully, the Sunday Brunch offered at the 1912 Bar & Grill located inside the Stampede Casino is a great alternative. Every Sunday, 1912 serves up a brunch full of breakfast staples that are composed as well, if not better than several of the breakfast places popping up in Calgary. The brunch buffet serves up a variety of items, from hashbrowns and waffles to eggs benedict and roasted ham. To go along with the breakfast items the kitchen usually whips up something new, in the past that has ranged from braised short ribs to pan-seared cod. Of course as 1912 is located in a casino it does have some flaws, such as the inability for families with children to dine, and depending on where you sit, the sounds of slot machines interrupting a conversation. However the quality of the food you get for the price makes 1912 a great Sunday Brunch. "
