August 2011 — "We visited this restaurant in hope that it would be good or even decent. We were pretty disappointed from the time we walked in. This restaurant dining area smells old and musty possibly of old cigarettes and improper ventilation. We almost left before we ordered, but wanted and was hoping that the food would make up for it. We ordered a beef noodle soup and vermicelli with pork and spring rolls. The food was less that impressive - over cooked noodles, and lacking flavor. Will never go back!"

December 2010 — "It has been a long time since I visited Minh Chau and it seemed the same - unassuming and casual. The menu is quite straightforward with a reasonable number of dishes to choose from. I decided on the Sate Seafood Noodle soup for 11.95. I was really pleased with the flavour - it was just spicy enough and didn't overpower and didn't have to add any of the extra sauces. I added some of the fresh basil leaves offered which really added to the taste. The chunks of crab, squid and shrimp were hardy and filling, along with the noodles and vegetables. The tea that came with the meal was a nice compliment. Our waiter was efficient and was quick to respond to any requests. The restaurant is looking worn and the ambience is nothing to write home about, but I went there for the food and that was enough. Why not stop in the next time you are in Inglewood!"

December 2010 — "I think Minh Chau has been around awhile and it is one of the staple Vietnamese restaurants in Calgary. It has been reviewed numerous times and always received positive accolades from those in the know - I would agree as far as the food is concerned. This little restaurant is flexible in how they prepare their food - they will ensure there is no MSG, and will modify broth to suit your preference if you don't like beef-based soups. I chose the spicy chicken satay soup and was extremely pleased - it was spicy enough to feel like I was eating something, but my lips weren't burned off in the process. The chicken was well cooked and shredded, with plenty of noodles and little vegetables floating around. I really must say this was one of the better soups I've had in a long while - a large bowl was $11 and tea was included. My main criticism of this restaurant are the washrooms. I've been several times and the washrooms are always a mess. Each time I've commented on this to the server and every time there is an apology - this time the little containers holding the chopsticks and spoons were dirty as well. Unfortunately this is a real turn off, even though their food is good and the people who work there seem very thorough and professional. "
