February 2011 — "Pho Pasteur Saigon is located across the street from the Harry Hays building in Calgary's Chinatown. It's an unassuming little place from the outside and is popular through word of mouth recommendations. I heard about this place through a friend and became a fan since the first time I tried it. As mentioned the place isn't much to look at from the outside and the inside isn't much nicer either but it works for a quick bite when you're in the downtown area. Their reputation for great tasting pho did not disappoint as they serve up delicious bowls everytime. The service is always fast and friendly as well. My favourite is the first item on the menu (I believe it is called the house special) and includes all the usual pho fixins including rare beef, tripe, and beef balls. It's a delicious bowl of pho everytime although the sizes tend to be a bit smaller than other places but the taste makes up for it."

December 2010 — "Pho Pasteur is the kind of place that you probably wouldn't wander into without having it recommended or hearing good things by word of mouth. But that is just what we did. My boyfriend and I had just finished up some business at the Harry Hayes building and had a short window of time to grab some lunch. Pho Pasteur is right across the street and claims to have "world famous pho soup" so we couldn't resist. It doesn't look like much from the outside. In fact, it looks sketchy to the point that we were not going to go in. However, we felt very comfortable as soon as we walked in. The place was full! Almost every little table was occupied with soup eaters! We were seated right away and after a quick glance at the menu, it became very evident that soup was the thing to order. There were many varieties to choose from. There were other Vietnamese items as well, but soup is their specialty. We ordered the sate beef soup and it came right away. It was just spicy enough and the beef portion was very generous! I will warn that they only take cash, but at $16 for both our soups, we were able to round up enough to pay. If you like Vietnamese soup, this is a great little place to try! "

December 2010 — "Though it doesn't look like much from the outside, and is a bit off the beaten track of downtown restaurants, Pho Pasteur serves up a mean bowl of pho soup. You can tell right away that most of the people inside the busy restaurant are loyal, return customers. You can order your soup in either their regular size, or large, and either way you get plenty of soup for what you pay. The prices are more than fair, and that combined with the delicious soup must be what brings people back! The broth is flavorful and the friendly staff make for a great experience. Food is served quickly making it a great place to pop in for a quick lunch. You have to be careful and pay special attention to the menu if you are a bit picky. Most of the soups contain tripe and tendon etc. If you want something pretty simple, order up the beef soup. Or try sate beef if you like it spicy!"
