April 2012 — "My mom's only birthday wish was to finally try the revolving restaurant at the Calgary Tower. I made a reservation for the family (party of 8) on the Saturday of my mom's birthday weekend and we all headed up for our first revolving dinner experience. The host at the bottom of the tower was very friendly and sent us to the elevator promptly. Once we got to the top we were once again greeted quite promptly. We had a great table by the window set up for the 8 of us and a very nice server. We were all a little annoyed at having to pay $2 for "Q" water, especially since it took an extremely long time to finally even get our waters. Ordering a second round of drinks was somewhat time consuming also, but likely because it was pretty busy. The food portions were perfect, I did not feel bloated nor hungry when I was finished. The food was amazing, my meat was cooked to perfection and it was all very flavourful. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food as well, although the polenta I tried left something to be desired. Our dessert of delicious gelato was also great, pistachio was the consensus favorite. All in all, taking in to account the revolving experience (which the kids loved), the good food, great server, etc. I would definitely recommend Sky 360! I don't think I have ever had a restaurant cater so well to a large group of 8. "

"Rotating view of Calgary"

August 2011 — "We decided to eat here since we had a discounted voucher and wanted to see the most of Calgary. It was a beautiful view and the coordination at the lobby of the Calgary tower and the Sky 360 Restaurant and Lounge was excellent. There was no mis communications, all I had to tell them was that I had reservations (you must make reservations in order to waive the fee to go up the elevators of the tower) and they had it on a sheet at the lobby and at the lobby of the restaurant. We were quickly seated and served, the only thing I have to complain about is that it takes quite awhile to get use to the moving of the floor, the seating area moves while the tower does not. However, the speed is noticeable to the point where you can watch your purse or napkin on the edge of the window move as you away from it. The corporate lunch menu allows you to choose between the starters of soup or salad. I had the salad which had lots of greens, cherry tomatoes, and onions. It was very light and refreshing. I also tasted the parsnip apple soup which I was apprehensive about, but it was a nice puree and had a light flavour to it, not too strong and tiny bits of apples. For my entree, I had the penne which came with black olives, capers, pesto, basil and crushed tomatoes. It was pretty good and flavourful for a vegetarian dish which I am not use to. However, the ratio of pasta to sauce was very high and they offered black pepper but not grated cheese. It also came with bread that was toasted and brushed with olive oil which was delicious. For dessert I shared the gelato which came with three scoops: mint chocolate, chocolate and coconut. It was topped with strawberries and very delicious and smooth, however we were super stuff and unable to finish it! Overall, it was an amazing view of Calgary during lunch hour, a nice place to get away from the bustling downtown during lunch time and decently priced. "

August 2011 — "I had a wonderful experience at Sky 360. This restaurant is located at the top of the Calgary Tower and allows you to have a beautiful view of the city while enjoying your meal. The name comes from the revolving floor which allows you to really view the whole city and not feel dizzy while you are slowly spinning to catch a view of all of what Calgary can offer. This is a great place to take your friends from out of town. We enjoyed the burger and penne for lunch along with a lemon custard desert. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the view was perfect. Even the tea and coffee tasted great. Once you are finished having lunch or dinner, be sure to go up to the observation deck and look for the glass bottom part. I was truly amazed at how breathtaking the city was. "

"Amazing views and experience"

July 2011 — "Sky 360 restaurant is the premier locale in Calgary to impress someone on a date, take your clients for a business lunch, or any special occasion for that matter. As suggested in its name, Sky 360 restaurant offers breathtaking 360 degree views of the entire city and local magazine Avenue has named it the best place to treat someone from out of town and I couldn't agree more. The experience is one of a kind as the restaurant itself actually revolves around so regardless of where you are seated the beautiful view keeps changing so you get a peak at every corner of the city. The restaurant completes a full turn about every once an hour so make sure to not rush and enjoy your meal so you get the full view. On my recent visit the restaurant was quite busy for lunch as the lunch menu prices are very reasonable. The dinner menus can be a bit more expensive with an average dish costing around $50 a plate but it is still well worth the experience."

"Windy and Swinging"

July 2011 — "Our brunch at the Calgary Tower started out with nice sunny weather and great visibility of the city. Half through our brunch, we noticed about half of the city was really dusty and it was so windy that we felt the swinging motion. Even the observation deck was swinging too. Our brunch was not too bad. I had a chicken club sandwich myself. The club sandwich is just three slices of white toast, not at all fancy. The chicken breast was okay, a little dry. The sauce they added within my club sandwich was too excessive. It was like drinking soup, gross. I dislike having too much sauce just like having too much dressing on my salad. The steak and eggs my friends had seemed okay. Their cut of steak often included a big chunk of fat. This big chunk of fat took over 30 percent of the entire piece of 5oz steak. They were not stingy on hash browns though. Each person received a mountain full of hash browns on their plate. Eggs benedict (poached style) was very small. The egg white portion seemed to remain too much in tact and made the entire egg look very small. Our slices of lemon for glasses of water was not delivered to our table. Our server had forgotten about it until we reminded her 20 minutes later. Water refills were also not taken care of until we reminded them."

"Great food with awesome view"

April 2010 — "Once a year we like to go to Sky 360 for a special occasion. We would go up the tower before sunset to enjoy the view during daylight. Then after watch the sunset views we head in the Sky360 and watch the sky go dark and enjoy the night lights of Calgary. It's really too bad the Calgary tower isn't the tallest building anymore where almost half the towers views are blocked by taller buildings now. But still, the views and food are worth it for us to go every year. Even more so, they're eliminated the elevation fee with the purchase of an entree. There probably isn't a more romantic place for a first date or anniversary. The food and the view there is great every time we go making it worth every penny. The service is also fast and friendly. Now if only they waive the parking fee under the tower as well, everything will be perfect. "

December 2009 — "We went to the Sky 360 for my wife's company's Christmas party this year. Which I have to admit, I was not really looking forward too and we had been there the previous year and it was not very good! But defiantly this year if I could sum it up in one word it would be - wow! The food was unbelievable! Everything was done perfectly, and presented really well! The service was top notch, our drinks were always topped up which with a party of that size I know is very difficult! As a matter of fact, I may even go out on a limb and say that it was the best service I have ever received at a restaurant here in Calgary! My only complaint that night was totally out of their control - it was a very windy night and the top of the tower was swaying like crazy which made both my wife and I a little queasy. Well done - Sky 360. I can't wait to be back! "

"A meal in the sky"

August 2009 — "For a little change of pace, we celebrated a friends birthday at Sky 360 for their Sunday brunch. It was the first time going up the Calgary Tower and a first ever, eating at a revolving restaurant. Of course the view was pretty and it made our meal that much more enjoyable. But the food was just so-so to me. I guess the view is suppose to make up for what you what. There was selection, fried rice, omelets, pancakes, waffles, smoked salmon, fresh fruits, veggie dishes, stir-fry, salads and some dessert, but maybe it has something to do with knowing you are moving in the air that left my stomach a little queasy. You don't feel it at first, but as you eat and see the elevator opening, you become more aware of the movement. I think I would ward off from this place if you have motion sickness, but for sure, worth the trip. You won't be disappointed by the view and the service was very professional and positive. Just get ready to dig deep into your wallet. "

"Mmmm Steak and Martini's "
Image

Save Review

April 2009 — "This dinner was very special, this was my friends 25th birthday and I wanted to make it great. We both ordered martini's and decided to share an appetizer. We had the scallops with bacon. The scallops were huge and very good. Was enough for two people to share. Although some what pricey but then again this is an expensive restaurant. After appetizers we both had steak. My friend had the 10oz striploin without the mushrooms and I had the pan seared 6oz tenderloin. The steak was done to perfection. Melt in your mouth, and the potatoes that came with were also very good. There could have been a few more vegetables as the portions were kinda small but again it's all about the presentation. After entrees we indulged in some dessert as it was her birthday. She had the Banana Split and I had the Vanilla Creme Brulee. Originally I wanted the chocolate tasting but it was not available. The desserts were still very delicious. Even though the bill was quite high for the two of us, it was a special occasion so it was worth it. For everyday dinning, this would not be ideal. "

""High" Class Dining"

April 2009 — "This restaurant charmed me at first with it's 70's-80's contemporary decor and atmosphere. On top of that, the dining floor spins slowly around to give you a complete view of downtown Calgary as well as the entire countryside. Dining up in the sky is an exhilirating experience and theirs definitly not a better view in all the places I've been in Calgary. Sky 360 has a nice selection of high priced wine. Although when it comes to the food menu I felt it lacked a sufficient amount of choices to keep my interest. I dined at the restaurant twice in two separate trips to the city and on my second visit, a month after my first, I couldn't find anything that I really wanted to try again. I enjoyed the fried calamari appetizer a $50 bottle of Shiraz and $39 sirloin steak on my first visit and was throughly satisfied with how everything tasted. I wasn't so satisfied, however, by the portions served. Is it just me or does it seem like the more money you pay for a meal the less food you get? Of course the price you pay for eating 627 feet up in the sky is quite steep. On my second visit I had a $10 tomato salad to start, which was probably the most food for the dollar and very tasty. For my entree I decided to pick the special, which was a $36 Halibut fillet. The food was all presented very ornately, but once again it was served on a large white platter that seemed to accentuate the small portions. I also had two local beers while rotating around the tower both from the big rock brewery and I highly recomend both if that's your pleasure. I started with a grasshopper - A light beer that was served with a lemon and had a refreshing taste. The other was the Traditional Ale from the brewery that was even more impressive - rich amber taste with an amazingly smooth finish. We were served by the same waitress on each visit and she was very helpful and courteous. Although on the second trip the restaurant was much busier and she and the rest of the staff were acted a lot more rushed. One of my companions complained that she never recieved a refill on her soft drink. All in all a very enjoyable experience if you can afford it. One thing you have to do if you visit this restaurant is go up to the observation deck preferably before your meal. There are binoculars and a gift shop but the best part is the glass floor on one side of the tower that you can stand on. Very exhilarating standing on top of this. I recommended going before your meal in case you have a weak stomach for this part of the sky 360 experience."

"Great Food"

December 2008 — "I went to Sky 360 for a staff Christmas party and had a great time, despite the fact that I felt a bit dizzy throughout the night. I knew that Sky 360 rotates, but I thought it would be so gradual that you would hardly even notice. However, as soon as I entered the restaurant it was apparent that it was moving. I was told that every hour the restaurant completes one full rotation. So for those who suffer from motion sickness it’s probably not the easiest venue to digest. It was strange watching not only the view of the city change but the walls move as well. It was also a bit of a challenge, especially as the drinks kept coming, to find where the washroom had moved to. However, the food was really good. The meal I enjoyed consisted of a house salad for a starter, fire weed honey glazed chicken breast for a main course and tiramisu for dessert. The chicken was absolutely delicious. Overall I would say that Sky 360 is definitely an interesting restaurant to spend an evening in, but that’s what makes it so fun."

"Great Views!"
Image

Save Review

December 2008 — "My wife had her company Christmas party at Sky360 this year, which is the revolving restaurant at the top of the Calgary Tower. I had never been this type of restaurant and was pleasantly surprised at the fantastic views of the city that can be seen. It is especially amusing to have the view change constantly, as it takes about one hour to do one rotation. It is relatively fancy up there and would be a great place for a romantic dinner. Being a large group, the service was a little slow and at points outright rude and snooty possibly because we were a staff function and not a romantic table of two. Several members of our party were drinking quite a few martinis, but that did not warrant the server to comment “this is a restaurant, not a bar.” He acted like we were not as important as usual guests, which is ironic considering we were ordering very expensive drinks and there was likely a 15 to 20% service charge on everything that was ordered. For our group, we had a choice of shrimp salad with cilantro or lamb brochettes to start. I chose the lamb, while my wife had the shrimp. Both were very delicious and the presentation was top-notch. For our entrees, I had the bison steak, while my wife had the chicken. The bison melted in my mouth and was perfectly cooked. My wife seemed to enjoy her chicken, but didn’t think it was the best meal she had ever had by far. The overall experience was very nice, and quite a bit of fun. The only damper was that the service was rude and unappreciative of the company’s business. If I’m heading out for a fine dining experience, I will probably choose another restaurant where the service was more hospitable. "

"Fancy and Fun"

March 2007 — "I was lucky enough to have dinner here on one special occasion and I thoroughly enjoyed myself! I had never dined in a real revolving restaurant before and it was rather novel, although at first I felt the tiniest bit queasy from seeing the movement out of the corner of my eye. The night-time views are of course eye-popping and the food was fancy and delicious as well. After dinner it's fun to stop on the way back down and stand on the glass floor. Definitely too expensive for me to enjoy regularly, I think a meal at the Panorama Dining Room is an experience worth indulging in at least once."
