August 2011 — "This place has an open floor plan with regular tables and a few living room type set ups with couches. Our server seemed bitter from the moment she met us at the door and sat us down. I think she needed a smoke break which we were lucky enough to watch her have since the back alley has windows into the restaurant. We switched sections and had a much nicer server with limited English.
Interestingly enough, each table setting had a coke bottle candy underneath the chopsticks. I'm not sure if that's found in Asia but it was cute.
We had the octopus carpaccio ($5) and it only had 3 this slices of octopus. It had a really nice marinade but was just a teaser. We also had the assorted tempura ($6) which was worth it since it came with shrimp, asparagus, and yams. We had a few rolls too: kamikaze roll ($6), spicy scallop roll ($8), and tofu green onion roll ($3). The tofu was a little bland but the other two rolls were good but again, the servings were small. I guess they matched the price though.
I was expecting better sushi in Banff since it is so multicultural. There are better places to eat sushi in Calgary for sure. "

August 2010 — "Sushi Bistro in Banff, Alberta, serves wonderfully fresh sushi at very reasonable prices. For $12 I was able to get a Phili Salmon roll with cream cheese and smoked salmon, a yam tempura roll, and an avacado cucumber roll. They also had a wide selection of nigiri sushi, which looked like it was very fresh. The portion sizes were about average for a sushi restaurant. The waitress was very friendly and patient while we asked questions about the menu. A good lunch or dinner option in Banff."

August 2010 — "Sushi Bistro is an excellent place to go in Banff, whether you want a take-out or dine-in meal. There is comfortable seating, including bar, table, and couch options, and the place is full of light.
I especially enjoyed the vegetarian options. Both hot and cold dishes were delightful and delicious. I loved the bakudan roll, if you would like to try something with fish (raw salmon) or a bit of heat (spicy chili sauce).
The only thing is that the washrooms are located in the larger portion of the divided building, not the restaurant itself. Fine for casual dining, but maybe not a date or for someone with limited mobility.
Staff were knowledgeable and polite. I would say try it!"

Sushi Bistro is a Japanese eatery that offers a contemporary atmosphere and a catalogue-style menu of sushi rolls, as well as other Asian favourites such as tempura, teriyaki dishes and karaage. Customers can choose from lounge seating, traditional tables or a bar with a flat-screen TV.
