March 2011 — "Café Mela located on Humboldt Street is a hidden little café with fabulous customer service.
The café is cozy with limited seating and is making a name for itself as a charming tea room in the downtown area. They offer Silk Road tea’s and fantastic pastries that keep me coming back for more. I’m always on the search for the great chocolate chip cookie and Café Mela has won my attention, but I am also weak for the gingerbread. My partner enjoys a good mocha coffee and says that Café Mela knows how to make a great mocha. They also offer an assortment of deli style wraps and homemade personal pizza’s which I am looking forward to trying.

"Charming Little European Cafe"

August 2010 — "Café Mela is located at the bottom of a condo building in Humboldt Valley of downtown Victoria. They serve daily organic soups, sandwiches, coffee, and many different desserts. The service is excellent and although a bit over-priced, they take great care in their quality of food. We met one of the owners and he was very warm and friendly. I don’t drink coffee but understand their coffee is excellent and worth trying. My friend and I each ordered sandwiches – tuna and ham sandwiches. Both were delicious and the desserts were even better! I had a type of brownie with white chocolate drizzle on top and my friend had a large chocolate chip cookie that was a perfect treat. I would definitely come back again to this charming little European café and highly recommend it to those wanting a treat in the middle of their day! It's just too bad they're not open in the evenings!"
