February 2012 — "I have been to Austin's a few times lately with some friends to have a drink and play pool, but I had never eaten there. This changed on my last visit. We ordered hot wings, honey garlic wings and potato skins. Everything was really good, especially the potato skins. The service has always been relatively good there too, and this night it was the same as always. I have seen a lot of people eat there and most of them seemed to be enjoying their food, however, my nephew went once and he had a horrible experience, which is probably why it took me so long to order some grub. I think sticking to deep fried appetizers is probably a safe bet. The pub itself is pretty nice and modern, with lots of tvs to watch sports on and some VLTs if you're into that. Austin's is definitely a neighbourhood pub, but as far as these types of pubs go, it's decent."

December 2010 — "Austin's is the community pub where I grew up and as long as I could remember it was kind of a hole. Before smoking inside was made illegal, it was always covered in a blue/grey haze of years' old cigarette smoke and the VLTs were always full. The staff was always great but at the same time he carpets were dirty and stinky.
I've just returned for the first time in a few years and since smoking inside was outlawed. They've renovated the interior and what a difference all of the changes have made! The haze is gone, they've still got VLTs but they're less prominent, everything is clean and the entire place looks more like a fun sports pub than a dingy local.
We went in on a Monday and it was very busy, full of people watching hockey and Monday Night Football. Our server was friendly and quick to bring out drinks and take our food order. There was a good energy at the pub, with locals young and old(er) enjoying the sports on TV. My friend and I ordered the pub platter which was filled with deep-fried goodness. Everything was delicious and I especially enjoyed that the platter came with carrots which distracted me from the not so healthy stuff we consumed.
The pub offers about 10 beers on tap and has imports in bottles. They also offer a small, but decent range of wines. I was very impressed with the new, improved version of Austin's and would happily stop in again. "

August 2010 — "We went to Austin's, just off of Elbow Drive South, after midnight on the way home one night. I had just moved to the area and it is a few blocks from my new place. The place has really cool decor and a really modern feel. I was excited to have such a neat place to hang out so close to home. The service was good as the place was mostly empty. We were starving and couldn't wait to eat! My girlfriend had the fish and chips and I had the quesadilla. Honestly, both were terrible. The quality of the fish was poor and it had a "muddy" taste to it. The breading wasn't cooked and was falling off the fish in clumps. My quesadilla tasted more like lasagna as it was made with spaghetti sauce or something. Awful. It was really too bad considering the atmosphere is good and the service good as well. But the food just doesn't cut it. I might eat there as a last resort but would never take my girlfriend there again. "

Steak sandwiches, fish and chips and Montreal smoked meat sandwiches are just a sample of the offerings available at this casual neighborhood eatery and pub, which also serves breakfast.
