June 2010 — "I first noticed Camy Shanghai Dumplings on the visit to Melbourne previous to this trip. I was waiting to get into Section 8: The Container Bar (One of the coolest, most unique, and possibly my favourite bar that I've ever been to) and noticed that just down the laneway dozens of people were waiting to get into a place down the street. I had no idea what it was but decided to check it out before going to Section 8 this visit. Turns out it was a chaotic dumpling place. My friend and I joined the masses out front yelling to the staff member assigned to make order of the chaos out front and get everyone seated. At first I thought it would be hopeless to get in but the turnover was quick and we waited less than 10 minutes before being seated at a table for four with two friendly strangers. We grabbed a couple of beers and ordered what turned out to be way too many dumplings. We were very hungry and were unaware of the portion size so tried some prawn dumplings, some mushroom ones and my friend also got an order of pork dumplings. We barely got through half of what we ordered and this was after enticing our dining table partners to try a few (they had decided to try the noodle dishes). All in all our food and beer came to approximately $20 each and we had a bunch to take away. Suddenly the mad queue out front made sense. The Dumpling House is a great place to head for a cheap and filling meal. "
