"Sheppards Pie Savvy"
September 2011 — "I took a seat over the lunch hour and got really quick attention. I ordered the sheppards pie and if you like a good sheppards pie as much as I do, this is the place for you. They mix seasoned lamb and beef, peas and carrots all topped with garlic mashed potatoes that aren't just slopped on top. The potatoes come out of an icing holder and is squeezed decoratively on top almost like its a birthday cake. There's no slouch in the kitchen. There is a perfect flavour when you get all ingredients in one bite. I ordered it with caesar salad which interestingly came without croutons. Better yet, it came with toasted bread on top that could be crumbled into croutons. The homemade dressing was really nice too. The whole lunch came on a contemporary cutting board that was a nice touch.
This place is outfitted with tv's and there are lots of regular customers that are known by name. Check this marda-loop gem out.

September 2010 — "I have been to Union Station twice now and i was very impressed with both the atmosphere and the service that i have recieved. Both the staff and management were very poilte, friendly and attentive. Our server was with another customer and another server came to our table almost as soon as we sat down to bring us menus and take our order. Our drinks arrived promptly, and our food orders were taken as soon as our drinks arrived. The food was great and came to our table quite quickly. The owner came over to our table to see how everything was and to ensure that we were getting everything we needed. The environment was very welcoming and relaxing, there were people from many different age groups out enjoy the pub at the same time which was great. I would definatly recommend this place to everyone and i will definantly be going again!!!"

September 2010 — "While driving around Marda Loop, we happened to notice the Union Station Taphouse, which we had never seen before. We decided to have lunch there on a Saturday afternoon. I guess it has only been open for just over a month and the interior was impressive. It was like a traditional pub with dark wood bar, booths and tables throughout. They had quite a few beers on tap, and an extensive drink menu. Their actual menu has appys, sandwiches, burgers, pastas etc, like a typical pub. Our server greeted us promptly and took our order. I decided to have the beef dip with fries, while my wife had the brie, apple, prosciutto grilled cheese with sweet potato fries. Both dishes were pretty good, typical pub fare. The service was good throughout and I was surprised at how many people were in the pub at 1:30pm... it looked like they were all getting ready for the long haul! If I'm in this area, I'll be sure to visit this pub again. "
