September 2010 — "Some friends and I were looking for a new place to grab a bite before we went to a show when we spotted what looked like a nondescript pub in a strip mall on Macleod Trail. I looked up the menu on my phone and we decided it sounded good so we'd give it a try. We certainly didn't regret it.
We were very surprised to see such a large and tastefully decorated establishment when we walked through the doors. We sat in a booth and the service was prompt. We ordered our beverages, which arrived cold and promptly, and our server was very happy to assist us in making our menu selections. There were so many appetizers that looked good that my friend and I decided to share a few of these. We started with the grilled tacos, which were phenomenal. We then decided to try the bbq short rib sliders and the fusion wings. I was truly amazed at the elegant presentation of each dish and how fresh the food seemed to be prepared. It certainly wasn't sitting under a lamp in the kitchen waiting to be served. The sliders were so delicious it is making me hungry just writing about them. The wings were very meaty and not greasy at all. The fusion flavour had just the right amount of heat to it and was very tasty.
I look forward to eating at Dobsons again sometime!"

September 2010 — "Four of us went to Dobsons for dinner as we had heard great things about the food and the service. Upon walking in, I was impressed with the atmosphere and the decor as it was much more than I was expecting from the outside. We started out with some sliders as our appy. They are basically little mini burgers. They were great. I ordered the lobster ravioli as my main as I have had it at another restaurant before and loved it! I was happy to find it was just as tasty. The portion was the perfect size as the sauce was very rich. I couldn't have eaten any more. Unfortunately, our order was rang in incorrectly, resulting in one meal being served much later than the rest. The server was very apologetic, and as we weren't in a big hurry, I would say it wasn't a big deal. All in all, I would say the service was descent, the food was pretty good, and the atmosphere was well suited to a night out with another couple. I would recommend Dobsons to anyone that wants a pub-like experience, but is tired of the regular pub menu and wants something a bit more tantalizing. "

September 2010 — "A few of us were looking for something out of the ordinary while driving down Macleod Trail. I am so sick of the regular chain restaurants, etc. so happened to spot Dobson's Restaurant & Bar in a stripmall near 70th ave. I had never noticed this restaurant before, and after a quick look on our phone at the menu decided it couldn't be missed. We drove around back and were surprised to see a large parking lot and a back entrance that was quite large. We were greeted right away and were seated in a booth. The service was very good, she suggested menu items, checked on us several times and overall, it was probably the best service I've had in awhile. To start I had the the braised BBQ short rib, monterey jack cheese sliders. You got three nicely presented sliders on a plate and they were delicious. I mean REALLY delicious. For my main I had the Jack Daniel BBQ Chicken flatbread with sweet onion, roasted red pepper and jalepenos. It was sooo good, generously topped with cheese and VERY spicy, at least in my opinion. Everyone really enjoyed their meals, the atmosphere, the service. We were so surprised to find such a gem of a pub! I guess it just opened a few months ago, but wow, they know how to cook. "

September 909 — "My girlfriend and I went for dinner at Dobson's because it was pretty close to my place. We liked it as soon as we walked in and chose a booth close to the entrance. We found the service to be pretty good and our beer on tap was delicious and cold. We have heard they have great food and were pretty impressed with the menu selection. It offered much more than your typical pub menu. However we ended up being pretty disappointed with our food. My girlfriend had the chicken flatbread, and it was so spicy that she couldn't even eat more than 2 bites. I tried it and agreed that it was WAY too spicy. Her mouth was burning for the rest of our meal. I had the seafood club and it looked great when it came. Usually a sandwich being big is a good thing, but this one was unmanageable and overstuffed. Half of it fell out on the first bite. I think the seafood filling might have been a bit old as well. The "seafood taste" was quite strong and overpowering. I like seafood quite a bit but would never order it again. Our server was really nice about everything and even took the flatbread off the bill. I think I would give this place another chance because of the menu, service and atmosphere. I think we just hit it on a bad day. "
