April 2012 — "This downtown restaurant is always busy at lunch ... Most times I've been there, there's been no tables at all but as soon as you walk in, the servers start re-arranging tables to fit you in and amazingly, I've never been turned away. The food is great, which is probably why it's so busy. Everything tastes really fresh and delicious. I usually have the rice vermicelli with lemongrass chicken and spring rolls -- it's a great go-to dish and I've never been disappointed by it. The salad rolls are also excellent, as well as the Satay soup. The prices are slightly higher than many Vietnamese restaurants in this city, but considering it's downtown location I think that's reasonable. The service is surprisingly fast considering how busy it is. I wouldn't say that the servers are overly friendly, but they're very professional and prompt. Overall, I think it's well worth the visit if you work downtown and like vietnamese. "

August 2010 — "Myself and a couple of co-workers went to Thanh Truc today for lunch. It's your typical Vietnamese restaurant. The décor is nice but nothing too fancy and the menu offers a variety of different rice noodle dishes and soup. I decided to try the Satay Beef Noodle Soup and thought that it was good but like the décor, nothing fancy. The beef was tender but lacked flavor and found myself dipping the pieces in a side of hoi sin sauce. The broth had a mild spice which I liked but felt it could have used a little more satay. The price was reasonable and I was definitely full after my meal. The service was very friendly, our order was taken quickly, and our dishes arrived just as fast. All in all I was very satisfied and would recommend this place for anyone looking for decent Vietnamese food downtown at lunch."
