March 2012 — "Belfry has the best salads! Not only are they delicious, they are HUGE! I ordered the Harvest salad, which was mixed greens with pickled beets, pistachios, goats cheese, and roasted corn with a creamy beet juice dressing. I was pleased that the dressing seemed to be quite healthy as I think it was simply plain yogurt with beet juice. The pink color made it quite visually interesting! I added cajun chicken breast, which made it perfect! Someone at the table next to us ordered the cobb salad, and it looked equally amazing! The service is very slow although the servers are nice and seem to know what they are doing. The prices are reasonable and the place is huge. The washrooms are downstairs and are way overly sized. It looks like there are a few private dining rooms downstairs as well for hosting private parties and events. I will definitely eat at Belfry again and try a different one of their salads! Yum!"

March 2012 — "Belfry is an Irish pub located downtown on 8th Avenue and 6th Street. It has a very large capacity and gets pretty busy and loud at lunch. The decor is what you would expect from an Irish pub and the crowd is mostly corporate, especially at lunch. The menu is your regular pub food with pub appetizers and sandwiches, burgers, salads, and other entrees. We went for lunch and the fact that our food was amazing was kind of overshadowed by the fact that it took an hour and a half to have lunch on a Friday. Our appetizer was the beef skewers which were tasty, but the portion was very small. For my main I ordered the steak sandwich, cooked medium rare. When it finally came, it was delicious, juicy, and cooked just right. The huge portion of fries were great too. The price was fair and I liked everything about the place except for the fact that they don't seem capable of managing a lunch rush. If you have the time to wait, check it out. "

July 2010 — "I recently tried out the Belfry Gastro House for lunch. Located at 630 8th Avenue, the location is good and I think it would be a great place for drinks and a bite to eat after work. The interior is decorated nicely and has an upscale pub feel.
They were featuring Big Rock Gopher on tap, so I had one of those and debated between the steak sandwich and a brie turkey wrap. I decided on the steak sandwich and one of my friends got the wrap. I ordered the steak medium-rare, and it was cooked perfectly. The onions were a nice topping and the mushroom ketchup was divine. The steak itself was a little bit fatty, but it was still a good meal. My friend really enjoyed the brie turkey wrap so that is what I would try next time.
The food was good, the beer was cold and the service was great. I'll definitely be back to the Belfry.

Located in the former Murph's location, the Belfry offers a more upscale experience with its European gastro pub atmosphere. Pub classics and hearty mains are served including pork belly mac, fish and chip and sweet potato gnocchi in addition to a selection of pizzas, burgers and sandwiches.
