August 2011 — "The Strathcona Rooftop surfclub located in the Stathcona Hotel is a great summer time venue. It has two beach volleyball courts to be enjoyed during. We held our staff appreciation summer event at the volleyball courts and it was a blast! The menu is fantastic! I had the Californian chicken burger and you had several choices of sides, I enjoyed a side of strawberries which was a refreshing alternative to the traditional burger and fries. The staff is so friendly and very attentive. During our volleyball games we were able o to enjoy the other side of the patio where there is a full restaurant and bar, where we enjoyed a few different cocktails. The restaruant area has a tropical resort feel which is good for being a rooftop club. If you are downtown Victoria and want a different dining experience, head up to the rooftop restaurant!"

June 2010 — "Rooftop Surf Club may have started as the rooftop patio at the Sticky Wicket. Now it is a destination on it's own. The tropical surfer theme makes you feel like you are instantly on vacation in Hawaii (legitimately very reminiscent of rooftop patios there). If that is not enough of a draw for you like it is for me, how about the rooftop beach volleyball? Or the open-air kitchen (what a great kitchen that would be to work in!). Or that there doesn't seem to be a deep-fryer in sight. This is a plus for healthy eating, though I guess disappointing if you wanted fries with you meal instead of corn on the cob, salad or strawberries. Yes, strawberries are on the menu as a possible side for your dish. How cool is that? My favourite item on the menu is the Mediterranean Quesadilla with house made pesto. One of the best Quesadillas I have ever had. Everything about the Surfclub is the essence of summer, focusing on light, fresh food and laid-back good times. What is not to love?"

Part of the Sticky Wicket Pub, the Rooftop Surf Club is located, as the name suggests, on the roof of the pub. Popular with students, this is the perfect summer hang out with sandy beach volleyball courts. Get a tan on sunny, summer days, or dance the night away under the stars.
