July 2011 — "My husband and I came here before an early hair appointment I had booked that day. The place was quite busy when we arrived at 9am. The menu was pretty simple but oh my goodness, so cheap. I don’t think I saw a single thing over $7. We ordered two meals. The first one was fish congee with “oil sticks”. The other was an egg, toast, orange juice, a steak and a pork chop. I also got a coffee included. Okay, the food did not taste amazing, I will admit. However, the sheer volume of the food provided was insane. Had I known what was coming, I would have honestly asked them to not bring some of it out, and I would have still paid full price. In total, we paid about $13 for the two of us, and we were absolutely stuffed. The decor is dated but it’s obviously full of regulars and I can see why. I think this place is going to be the new hotspot for breakfast for me. I love me some cheap food!"

March 2011 — "ABC Bakery & Cafe is a HK style restaurant located in Calgary's Chinatown. It offers a large selection of items which can only be referred to as quintessentially Hong Kong. The decor is old and a bit worn down but is expected for those who are familiar to dining in and around Chinatown. Their menu features a selection of curries and rice dishes. One of their most popular dishes is a pan-fried steak with black bean sauce or onion sauce topped with a sunny side egg on top and rice on the ride. Comfort food at its best. Menu prices are some of the most reasonable in town. Most lunch items and dinner specials are under $10 and include a small baked desert and drink. Service is fast and friendly and the menu choices are available in English. There is also a bakery in the shop for sweet cravings after your meal. "

June 2010 — "It's been a while since I've made my way to ABC and for sure, it was convenient when it was on the way to work in the morning or if you work downtown because parking could be a real pain, that comes with a hefty parking fine. I took the bus and needed to be downtown, so it was a nice change. I tried it out again because I pretty much followed the crowd. Their breakfast specials looked good, from western to more Asian style meals - with congee and noodles. And I think they freshly bake their buns everyday. I say for a while and definitely felt the hustle and bustle of the morning. Their milk tea was very good. Very strong and flavourful. Hopefully, you got the fresh noodles. Otherwise, you get the crunchy bottom stuff that I couldn't bring myself to continue eating. This restaurant seems to be consistent with what I remember it to be and I am sure they get their regulars, so they must be doing something right. I think the price makes up for the imperfections. You'll see..."
